The Algerian National rugby union Championship is a rugby union club competition that is played in Algeria and created in 2017. The national championship of rugby began in November 2018, it was learned by the president of the Algerian Rugby Federation (FAR), Sofiane Benhacen.
The FAR president, Sofiane Benhacen, announced at the end of December 2016 the launch in September 2017 of the first edition of the national rugby championship. The 20 rugby union teams that exist in Algeria would be divided into two pools, Center-West and Center-East, [1] but it never saw the light of day.
Finally, the first Algerian championship in the history of Algerian rugby kicked off in November 2018. It ended on May 3, 2019 in Blida after a series of five regional tournaments (Algiers, Oran, Msila, Sidi Bel Abbès and Arzew) and a final tournament in Blida which won the best team. [2] The first edition was won by Stade Oranais. [3]

Mouloudia Club Oranais, known as Mouloudia d'Oran, commonly referred to as MC Oran for short, is a football club based in Oran, Algeria. Founded on 1 January 1917 and formed again on 14 May 1946, the club was known as Mouloudia Chaâbia Ouahrania from 1971 to 1977, Mouloudia Pétroliers d'Oran from 1977 to 1987 and Mouloudia d'Oran from 1987 to 1989. The club colours are red and white. Their home stadium, Ahmed Zabana Stadium, has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
Sofiane Feghouli is a professional footballer who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Galatasaray and the Algeria national team. He mainly operates as a right midfielder, but can also play as a winger and as an attacking midfielder.
Rabah Saâdane is an Algerian football manager and retired professional player whose playing career was abruptly interrupted at the age of 27 by a car accident. His last management job was of the Algerian national team before resigning in September 2010.

The first match they competed in was on the 24th February 2007, in a game in Tunis against the Tunisia national rugby union team. While almost all current national team players play for clubs in the French championship, there are some national players who practice the sport in Australia, New Zealand, Romania and England. The Algerian Rugby Federation (FAR) ; is the governing body for rugby union in Algeria. Algeria became a full member of Rugby Africa in December 2016. The federation is responsible for the Algerian national team and the Algerian Rugby Championship. It is in charge of promoting the sport in Algeria, organizes international matches for the national team, and is involved in educating and training players and officials. Algeria has never participated in the Rugby World Cup qualifiers. Their best result to date was a 50-0 win against Egypt and Libya, both in a Cairo international tournament in 2010.

The 2017 North African Tri Nations was the second annual North African Tri Nations rugby union tournament held between the national rugby union teams of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. The 2017 tournament was held in Oujda between 17 and 23 December. Morocco won their second consecutive title after winning in the final against Algeria with a score of 20-13.

The 2019 Algerian Cup Final was the 55th final of the Algerian Cup. The final took place on June 8, 2019, at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida with kick-off at 17:00 between CR Belouizdad and JSM Béjaïa, The latter is the first club from a bottom leval to reach the final since 2005–06. CR Belouizdad achieved their eighth title in their history with a 2–0 win. Due to the difficult political conditions in Algeria and for the first time in the history of the Algerian cup final, the president of the country does not hand over the cup to the winning team, where he was handed over by the Minister of Youth and Sports Raouf Salim Bernaoui.
