In 1976, he founded Albwardy Investment. [4] He serves as Chairman and Director of Pacman LLC. [5]

Polo

He owns the Dubai Polo Country Club, which hosts the Cartier International Polo Challenge every year. [6] He is also the patron of the Dubai Polo Team, where his son Rashid Albwardy is one of the players. [7]

Between 2004 and 2007 Albwardy was president of Ham Polo Club in Richmond, London. The private grounds of Dubai Polo Team, owned by Albwardy, are still used for Ham's Dubai Trophy competition and the Roehampton Trophy. Albawardy's team were champions in the Dubai trophy which he presented in 2006 naming it after the Dubai Desert Palm Polo Club.

Albwardy continues to play polo regularly though less frequently in competition in the UK as his son Rashid patrons the team.

In December 2016, Albwardy played with the Argentinian prodigy Julio Otaegui Houston at La Dolfina Polo Club.

Ham Polo Club is a Hurlingham Polo Association polo club situated in Richmond in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, south-west London, England. It is one of the oldest polo clubs in the United Kingdom and the last surviving club in London. The club occupies a location between Richmond Park and the River Thames overlooked by Ham House, eight miles from Hyde Park Corner. The club's facilities include three polo fields, a stick and ball field, an exercise track, livery service, coaching and a members' clubhouse with a restaurant and bar which is managed by Blue Strawberry Group. Polo is played at Ham Polo Club between May and September. The club has around 70 playing members and several hundred social members.

The Roehampton trophy is the oldest polo trophy in the United Kingdom. The trophy was first played for at the Roehampton Club in 1902 and was won by Buccaneers. Today it is played for at the Ham Polo Club, the tournament is played for at an 6-goal level and the finals are held in August.

The Dubai Polo Team is a successful high goal polo team based in Windsor. The Teams Patron Ali Albwardy also owns the Desert Palm Polo Club in Dubai. Adolfo Cambiaso is a regular player on the Dubai team alongside Ali's sons Tariq and Rashid. Other prominent players to have been on the team include Lolo Castanola, Lucas Monteverde, Pablo Mac Donough and Piki Diaz Alberdi. Ali Albwardy was also President of Ham Polo Club for some time.
