Ali Hussein (born 1 January 1953) is a former Iraqi football striker who played for Iraq in the 1976 AFC Asian Cup qualification. He played for the national team between 1975 and 1980. [1]
Ali Hussein was topscorer of the Iraqi League in 1979-80 and in 1983-84. [2]

The Hashemites, also House of Hashim, are the royal family of Jordan, which they have ruled since 1921, and were the royal family of the kingdoms of Hejaz (1916–1925), Syria (1920), and Iraq (1921–1958). The family had ruled the city of Mecca continuously from the 10th century, frequently as vassals of outside powers, and were given the thrones of the Hejaz, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan following their World War I alliance with the British Empire; this arrangement became known as the "Sharifian solution".
Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf is an Iraqi former diplomat and politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 2001. He came to worldwide prominence around the 2003 invasion of Iraq, during which he was the Minister of Information under Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, acting as spokesman for the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and Saddam's government. He has also been nicknamed Baghdad Bob or Comical Ali for his notable and colorful television appearances as the Information Minister of Iraq.
Ali bin Hussein, was King of Hejaz and Grand Sharif of Mecca from October 1924 until he was deposed by Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in December 1925. He was the eldest son of King Hussein bin Ali and a scion of the Hashemite family. With the passing of the kingship from his father he also became the heir to the title of caliph, but he did not adopt the office and the style of caliph.

The 2000West Asian Football Federation Championship, also known as the King Hussein Cup, was the first edition of the WAFF Championship; it took part in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Iran won the final against Syria 1–0. The eight entrants were Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and host nation Jordan. The finals took place between 23 May and 3 June 2000.

The 2002–03 Iraqi First Division was the 29th season of the competition since its establishment in 1974. Organised by the Iraq Football Association (IFA), the league's name was changed to Iraqi First Division, and it started on 6 September 2002. 27 rounds of the league were played before the US-led invasion of Iraq began on 20 March 2003. Despite the outbreak of the Iraq War, matches continued with free entry for spectators and games from rounds 28 and 29 were played in the midst of the conflict. The last matches were played on 28 March before the league stopped and Saddam Hussein's government was overthrown, leading to the formation of a new IFA committee.

The 2016 Iraq FA Cup Final was the 25th final of the Iraq FA Cup as a clubs-only competition. The match was contested between the Baghdad rivals, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. It was played on 29 May 2016 to be the final match of the competition. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya made their 7th appearance in the Iraq FA Cup final while Al-Zawraa extended their record to 16 final appearances. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya won the match 2–0 with goals from Bashar Rasan and Humam Tariq, for the club's 4th title.
