Biography

She won the title of Miss South Carolina on July 14, 2012, when she received her crown from outgoing titleholder Bree Boyce. [5] Rogers was swimsuit preliminary winner at Miss South Carolina 2012. [6] Rogers' platform is “Making a Difference for Children with Disabilities” and she said she hoped to raise awareness for children with developmental disabilities during her reign as Miss South Carolina. [7] [8] [9] Her competition talent was an original piano composition. [10] Rogers majored in Communication Studies and is a member of Alpha Delta Pi at Clemson University. [10] [11] At the age of 17, Rogers won the title of Miss South Carolina Teen in 2009, and went on to compete in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant in 2010. [12] [13]

The pageant was televised since the 1960s until the 1998 pageant. Televising was resumed with the 2000 pageant through 2006. The pageant returned to television in 2014.

Brett Eldredge, Pitbull, and the cast of Michael Jackson: One by Cirque du Soleil performed.

Miss Americas Outstanding Teen 2006

Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2006 was the first Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant, held at the Linda Chapin Theater in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on August 20, 2005. At the conclusion of the event, Meghan Miller of Texas was crowned Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2006 by Miss America 2005 Deidre Downs.

Miss America 2019

The Miss America 2019 pageant/competition was the 92nd Miss America pageant, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 98th anniversary in 2018. This discrepancy is due to national pageants not being held from 1928–1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression. The 2019 competition was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On May 23, 2018, it was announced that the pageant would air live on ABC on Sunday, September 9, 2018. This was the last Miss America to be aired on ABC before would be moving to NBC beginning from 2020 pageant.
