Alice Lee is an American actress and singer. She is known for originating the role of Heather Duke in the Off-Broadway production of Heathers: The Musical and for the role of Emily Kang on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist .

Early life

Lee is a native of North Shore, Chicago, grew up in Glenview, and attended Glenbrook South High School. [1]

Career

In 2009, Lee started her acting career in the television soap opera series As the World Turns . In 2014, Lee originated the role of Heather Duke in the Off-Broadway production Heathers: The Musical . However, Lee left the Broadway production to compete in the reality television singing competition Rising Star . Lee played the role of Emily in the television series Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist . While she originally auditioned for the role of Mo, she was instead offered the role of Zoey's sister-in-law in the series. [2] Lee voices Lois Lane in the animated series My Adventures with Superman . [3] Lee will appear in the NBC series Suits: L.A. as a young associate attorney, Leah. [4]

Heathers: The Musical is a musical with music, lyrics and book by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy, based on the 1989 film of the same name written by Daniel Waters. The producers include J. Todd Harris, Amy Powers, RJ Hendricks, and Andy Cohen. After a sold-out Los Angeles tryout, the show moved Off-Broadway in 2014. After the run in 2014, the show had an Off-West End run in 2018 and then transferred to the West End in 2018 for a limited engagement. Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist is an American jukebox musical comedy-drama television series created by Austin Winsberg that premiered on January 7, 2020, on NBC. The series stars Jane Levy as Zoey Clarke, a software developer who discovers she has the ability to hear the innermost thoughts of people as songs. Each episode features multiple song-and-dance numbers that develop the storyline, with each cast member singing their own character's songs. Except for the season 2 song "Crimson Love," the soundtrack consists entirely of previously written popular songs. The series also stars Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher, Mary Steenburgen, Lauren Graham, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant and Kapil Talwalkar, and Bernadette Peters. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on January 5, 2021. In June 2021, the series was canceled after two seasons.
