The Union (formerly titled Our Man from Jersey) [1] [2] is an upcoming American action comedy-thriller film directed by Julian Farino and written by Joe Barton and David Guggenheim from a story by Guggenheim. [3] The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Halle Berry, Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Alice Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, and J. K. Simmons.

Premise

A construction worker is roped into the espionage world by his former high school girlfriend.

Production

It was announced in May 2020 that Netflix had purchased the pitch for Our Man from Jersey, which would see Mark Wahlberg star. Joe Barton and David Guggenheim will write the screenplay from a story by Stephen Levinson. [4] In March 2021, Halle Berry was cast to co-star alongside Wahlberg. [5] In May 2022, J. K. Simmons, Jackie Earle Haley, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw and Alice Lee were added to the cast. [6]

Filming had commenced in March 2022, with shooting to take place in London, New Jersey, [7] and Piran. [8] The production caused slight controversy in May 2022 due to air and noise pollution from filming in Fitzrovia. [9] In September 2022, filming occurred in Ponterosso Trieste, Italy.

Release

The Union is scheduled to be released by Netflix on August 16, 2024. [10]

Mr. Eko is a fictional character, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje on the ABC television series Lost. He is introduced in the second season episode "Adrift" as one of the plane-crash survivors from the plane's tail section. Flashbacks reveal that he became the leader of a gang of guerrillas to save his brother when he still lived in Nigeria. He assumed his brother's identity and became a priest after his brother was killed in a botched drug smuggle; Eko killed two guerrillas in defense, was ostracized, and left Nigeria to become a priest in Australia. After investigating the alleged miracle of a girl who came back to life after drowning in Australia in 2004, Eko boarded Oceanic Airlines Flight 815.
