Alina Sorescu

Alina Sorescu (born 14 July 1986 in Bucharest) is a Romanian singer and TV presenter. She is the host of Tonomatul DP2 on TVR2.

Career

Sorescu won first prize at the Children's Music Festival in Bucharest in 1994. She won it again two years later, beating off nationwide competition. She released her debut album in 1997 at the age of 11, Voi fi o stea ("I'll be a star"), with tracks composed by Eugen Mihaescu. In 1999 she toured Europe, performing in concerts in France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, and studied singing with Professor Viorela Filip. She later studied sociology at the University of Bucharest. [1]

Sorescu ventured into a career as a television presenter. She began presenting Ploaia de stele, a music competitive show on TVR 1, which she appeared in along with Cosmin Cernat. She has since presented Vacanță în stil mare, Ora fără catalog, Portativul piticilor, Miss Plaja, and Matinal de vacanță, the latter with co-presenter Leonard Miron. In 2013 she released the single "Numai tu". She now hosts Tonomatul DP2 on TVR2. [1]

Personal life

Sorescu is married to Alexandru Ciuc. The couple have a daughter named Elena. [2]

In 2016 Disney Channel Romania chose the artist to sign the main theme from the series The Lion Guard. [3]

Mihai Alexandru Găinuşă is a Romanian radio and TV star, co-hosting the morning show on Kiss FM radio and a weekly satire show on the Romanian station Prima TV.

Alina Eremia

Alina Eremia is a Romanian singer, TV personality, actress and member of the LaLa band, who represented Romania in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song Țurai. She plays Ioana in the teenage sitcom series Pariu cu viața. From 2014, she participated at the Romanian version of Dancing with the stars on Antena 1 and she was in the jury of Next Star.

Leonard Miron is a Romanian television and radio presenter and journalist and works for Romanian National Television. He was born in Galaţi, Romania but was brought up in Piteşti and graduated from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy before starting a career in media. He speaks fluent English and French as well as German and Spanish.

Andreea Bălan

Andreea Bălan is a Romanian pop singer. Bălan made her singing debut on the children's television show, Ba da, ba nu, in 1994. Two years later, she released her debut solo album, Amețiți de fum. She enjoyed commercial success as a member of dance duo Andrè, which released six albums between 1998 and 2001. In 2002, the group was awarded four platinum and one gold record for selling 1.5 million album copies. Andrè was influential in bringing platform heels, box braids, mini skirts and push-up bras into fashion.

Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia. They selected their entry, "Pe-o margine de lume", by Romanian singers Nico and Vlad through the national selection competition Selecția Națională 2008 in February 2008. Controversy surrounded the event, as the organising broadcaster, Romanian Television (TVR), was accused of conspiracy, and the song reviewed for plagiarism. Prior to the 2008 contest, Romania had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest ten times since its first entry in 1994. Its highest placing in the contest had been third place, which the nation achieved in 2005. In 2007, Romania finished in 13th place.

Ioan Gyuri Pascu

Ioan Gyuri Pascu was a Romanian pop music singer, producer, actor, and comedian, also known for his participation in the comedy group Divertis and for his activity in Romanian cinema and television. Moving between rock music, rhythm and blues, reggae, and jazz, the multi-instrumentalist Pascu founded a number of bands and registered success particularly during the early 1990s, when he was the lead singer of a group known as The Blue Workers. Pascu was the manager of several alternative music acts with his label Tempo Music and remained an outspoken critic of Romanian commercial radio.

Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. They selected their entry, "The Balkan Girls", by Romanian singer Elena through the national selection competition Selecția Națională 2009 organised by Romanian Television (TVR) in January 2009. Prior to the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Romania competed eleven times since its first entry in 1994. Its highest placing in the contest had been third place, which the nation achieved in 2005. In 2008, Romania finished in 20th place. "The Balkan Girls" attained local commercial success, topping the Romanian Top 100 in April.

Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany and selected their entry through a televised national final, organised by Romanian broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR). "Hotel FM" were victorious with their song "Change" and thus represented the country in the 2011 contest.

Laura Anca Mariam Nureldin is a Romanian writer, journalist and news anchor. She is of Sudanese descent through her father. Nureldin studied psychology at Hyperion University in Bucharest, and then worked as a news anchor for several Romanian national television stations. She published several fiction novels.

"Moment of Silence" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Ovidiu Anton. It was written and composed by himself, while production was handled by Liviu Sorescu. A gothic-inspired pop rock track featuring an electric guitar solo throughout, "Moment of Silence" acts as a homage to the victims of the 2015 Colectiv nightclub fire. It received mixed reviews from music critics, with one likening it to the works of Swedish band Europe. At the 2017 Radio România Actualități Awards, the track won in the Best Pop Rock Song category.

X Factor is a Romanian television music competition that aims to find a new music talent to become a star. The seventh season will started aring on 10 September 2017 on Antena 1.

Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "Goodbye", written by Alexandru Matei, Alin Neagoe and Cristina Caramarcu, and performed by The Humans. The song was selected through a national final organized by the Romanian broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR).

Goodbye (The Humans song)

"Goodbye" is a song recorded by Romanian group The Humans, released on 12 January 2018 by Roton. The track was written by vocalist Cristina Caramarcu, while production and composition were handled by fellow members Alexandru Matei and Alin Neagoe. "Goodbye" is a 1980s-inspired soft rock and pop rock ballad whose instrumentation includes a cello; lyrically, it is a manifesto that discourages the abandonment of one's dreams. It also discusses the overcoming of suicidal ideation, depression and internal battles. Reviewers likened the track to the music of Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and Heart.

Alexandra Dinu is a Romanian actress and television presenter who has also appeared in films in Italy and America.

Amnesia (Roxen song) 2021 song by Roxen

"Amnesia" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Roxen, digitally released by Warner Music Poland on 4 March 2021. It was written by Adelina Stîngă and Victor Bouroșu, while the production was solely handled by the latter. A dark ballad, "Amnesia" lyrically talks combatting self-neglection in modern society, referring to this phenomenon as "self-love amnesia". The song has been likened to Roxen's "Alcohol You", Romania's entry for the cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020, by music critics due to its vulnerable nature.
