Alisher Chingizov is a Tajik butterfly and freestyle swimmer. He competed in the men's 50 metre freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Swimming has been a sport at every modern Summer Olympics. It has been open to women since 1912. At the Olympics, swimming has the second-highest number of medal-contested events.

She is widely regarded as the greatest female swimmer of all time and one of the greatest Olympians of all time.
