Considered the most influential Dutch composer of his generation, he was a central proponent of The Hague school of composition. Although his music was initially dominated by neoclassicism and serialism, his style gradually shifted to a synthesis of American minimalism, jazz and the manner of Stravinsky.

She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2019.
Augusta Read Thomas is an American composer and University Professor of Composition in the Department of Music at the University of Chicago, where she is also director of the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition.

Sydney Guillaume is a Haitian-American composer of contemporary classical music and film music, conductor, clinician, singer and pianist based out of Portland, Oregon. He has composed music for a variety of chamber ensembles, but is known primarily for his choral compositions.
