Alister Spence is an Australian jazz pianist and composer.

Spence leads the Alister Spence Trio with Lloyd Swanton and Toby Hall. They were nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album in 2004 for Flux and in 2007 for Mercury. [1]

Bands and artists he has recorded with include the Raymond MacDonald International Big Band, [2] Clarion Fracture Zone, Wanderlust, Australian Art Orchestra, Andrew Robson, and Carl Orr.

He was a composer for numerous Ivan Sen films including Journey, Tears, Vanish, Wind, Dust, Shifting Shelter, Yellow Fella, A Sister’s Love and Beneath Clouds . For the latter Sen and Spence were nominated for the 2002 AFI Award for Best Original Music Score [3] and the FCCA Award for Best Music Score. Other films he has composed for include Molly and Mobarak , Dakiyarr versus the King, Spirit Stones, and In My Father’s Country.

D.D Dumbo was the solo project of the Australian, Castlemaine-based musician, Oliver Hugh Perry, who began the project in 2013 with the release of his self-titled debut EP Tropical Oceans, released by The Blue Rider in 2013 and later re-released by 4AD in 2014. The EP received positive reviews and from here, Perry was invited to attend South by Southwest in the same year, where he was signed by 4AD. Sarah McKenzie is an Australian jazz musician. She is a singer, pianist, composer, and arranger. Her album Close Your Eyes won the 2012 ARIA Music Award for Best Jazz Album. She was also nominated for the same award in 2011 with Don't Tempt Me and in 2015 for We Could Be Lovers. We Could Be Lovers won an Australian Jazz Bell Award in 2015 for Best Australian Jazz Vocal Album.

Clarion Fracture Zone is an Australian contemporary jazz ensemble. Their debut album Blue Shift (1990), released through ABC Records, won the 1991 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album. It was recorded by the line-up of Sandy Evans on tenor and soprano saxophones; Tony Gorman on alto and tenor saxophones, clarinet and percussion; Alister Spence on piano and keyboards; Steve Elphick on bass guitar; Andrew Dickeson on drums and percussion. Carl Grant Orr is an Australian jazz guitarist and composer. He has been based in London since the 1990s. Orr earned a nomination for the 1992 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album for Seeking Spirit (1991).

Andrea Keller is an Australian pianist and composer. She won three ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with Thirteen Sketches, Mikrokosmos and Footprints and was nominated in 2013 for the album Family Portraits.

James Muller is an Australian jazz guitarist. The James Muller Trio won the 2000 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with the album All Out. Muller was nominated for same award in 2002 with Thrum and in 2006 with Kaboom.
