During the off-season, Nickelodeon advertised and broadcast a competition called " R U All That?: Nickelodeon's Search for the Funniest Kid in America ," a nationwide search to find the series a new cast member. The judges happened to be former cast members Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon; Josh Peck was also a judge. After it ended in early 2003, said competition was broadcast on TV in a four-week special, with the finals airing on July 26, 2003. The contest picked five finalists, and all of them performed a sketch with some of the cast members. The winner was Christina Kirkman, who joined the show in the season opener and replaced Bryan Hearne. Ryan Coleman, the runner up in the contest, joined mid-season.

Contents

Ratings-wise, the show was not doing well. In order to raise ratings, the producers brought back old fan favorite sketches, like mous character Ed, as well as putting in Coleman in a test skit. They thought the fit would work, resulting in the revision of the skit.

This would be the final season for Shane Lyons, Giovonnie Samuels, and Jamie Lynn Spears. Shane Lyons left All That after opting not to renew his contract. Giovonnie Samuels left because she felt was too old to be on All That, similar to original cast member Lori Beth Denberg exiting after Season 4. Jamie Lynn Spears left to star in her own Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 , a show also created by Dan Schneider.

The cast of Season 9 continued to do On-Air Dares, akin to the last season. The intro was changed for this season, with the cast being set in the same place and are dancing in a dark room with the All That logo lit up in the back. The cast, however, is now wearing red, unlike the white that was used in Seasons 7 and 8. The "Oh" sign was brought back, and Brummet and Kirkman both held up the sign in the intro, similar to the previous two seasons. The intro was changed to accommodate Coleman's entry onto the show. This is the first season since Season 3 to have more female cast members than male.

Following this season's conclusion, All That won Favorite TV Show at the 2004 Kids' Choice Awards for the first time in 4 years. [3]

Ryan Coleman is an American actor, producer, singer, songwriter, producer, and comedian from the Nickelodeon series All That. He was originally the runner up in R U All That?: Nickelodeon's Search for the Funniest Kid in America only losing to Christina Kirkman. Ryan replaced Jamie Lynn Spears after she left the show to star on Zoey 101. He finished out Season 9 with the cast and remained a cast member for Season 10 until All That was canceled. After All That ended, Ryan Coleman took a break from acting to focus on school. He graduated from Cesar Chavez High School in Stockton, California, in 2009 and he is working on his music and comedy acts. Ryan Coleman was in a band called Monomaniac from 2012 to 2015 in which he worked with acts such as MGK, Kehlani, Post Malone, Raekwon, KYLE, Towkio and many more. As a guitarist/bassist, he co-wrote the song "Written in Stone" for the Robert Glasper Experiment with Jahi Sundance and collaborated with Jaden Smith heavily on SYRE: The Electric Album. He released his debut solo EP, "Skippers" in October 2018 under the moniker Colt Coleman.

<i>All That</i> American sketch comedy television series

All That is an American sketch comedy children's television series created by Brian Robbins and Mike Tollin. The series originally aired on Nickelodeon from April 16, 1994, to October 22, 2005, lasting ten seasons, and was produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions and by Schneider's Bakery in season ten. The pilot episode was originally shown as a special "sneak peek" on April 16, 1994, with the show officially debuting as a regular series on December 24 the same year.

All That's eighth season ran from September 21, 2002, to July 26, 2003 and serves as the second season of the relaunch era. This season contained 15 episodes, as well as four special episodes looking for a new cast member to join the series.

The tenth season of All That aired throughout the spring and fall of 2005, being the fourth and final season of the first relaunch era. The season aired 13 episodes, beginning with a special to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series. Approximately 6.2 million total viewers watched the special on both its April 23 and April 24 airings, making it the top cable or broadcast program for the 2-11, 6-11, and 9-14 age demographics.

The 26th Young Artist Awards ceremony, presented by the Young Artist Association, honored excellence of young performers under the age of 21 in the fields of film and television for the year 2004, and took place on April 30, 2005, at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City, Los Angeles, California.

The eleventh and final season of the Nickelodeon sketch-comedy series All That aired from June 15, 2019 to December 17, 2020. This season marked the first time the show had aired new episodes since 2005. Former cast members Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell served as executive producers. Like the first 10 seasons, this season was shot before a live audience.

The children's cable television network Nickelodeon has on occasion, produced special programming in-line with its corporate cousin CBS and that network's then forthcoming Super Bowl coverage.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is a 2024 limited five-part documentary television series that details the behind-the-scenes world of children’s television from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, with a special focus during Dan Schneider's tenure as a producer and show runner on Nickelodeon. The first four episodes aired between March 17 and 18, 2024, on Investigation Discovery, and the fifth episode is scheduled to air on April 7. The series was simultaneously released on Max and Discovery+. Episode 3, The Darkest Secret, explores actor Drake Bell's personal struggles, especially his relationship and abuse with dialogue coach and sex offender Brian Peck. The series was produced by Maxine Productions with Sony Pictures Television and Business Insider. The series was loosely based on a Business Insider article about Nickelodeon from 2022.
