Allessia Claes (born 1981) is a Belgian politician and a member of the New Flemish Alliance.
Claes took part in elections for the first time in the municipal elections of 2012 in her hometown of Scherpenheuvel-Zichem and became a councilor for the town. She was the party leader and candidate mayor for the N-VA in the 2018 municipal elections in Scherpenheuvel-Zichem. She became party leader for the five-member N-VA faction in the city council. In those elections she also stood for the provincial council from 14th place. In the 2019 Belgian regional elections,Claes was elected as a Flemish Member of Parliament on the list of the N-VA in the Constituency of Flemish Brabant with 10,260 preference votes. Scherpenheuvel-Zichem is a city and municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant, Flemish Region, Belgium, encompassing the towns of Averbode, Messelbroek, Okselaar, Scherpenheuvel, Schoonderbuken, Keiberg, Kaggevinne, Testelt and Zichem. On January 1, 2020, Scherpenheuvel-Zichem had a total population of 23,135. The total area is 50.50km2 which gives a population density of 458.1 inhabitants per km2.

Bart Albert Liliane De Wever is a Belgian politician. Since 2004, De Wever has been the leader of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), a political party advocating for the transformation of Belgium into a confederal state. He is also a member of the Chamber of Representatives. De Wever presided over his party's victory in the 2010 federal elections when N-VA became the largest party in both Flanders and in Belgium as a whole. He accomplished this again in the subsequent 3 elections, eventually being tasked with forming a new government by King Philippe following the 2024 elections.
