Allison Melnick (born June 3, 1971) [1] is an American socialite, bar owner, and reality TV star originally from Long Island, New York. She is perhaps best known for appearing on the reality show The World According to Paris , where she is seen frequently accompanying Paris Hilton as she shops or travels. In 2008, Melnick opened the Apple Lounge a tiny, 150 occupant bar [2] in the basement of the Apple restaurant in Los Angeles.

Career

Allison Melnick started her career as a door girl at a local New York nightclub. It was during this period that she first met Paris Hilton. [3] In 2004, she was cast in the SpikeTV reality show The Club set at the now closed Vegas nightclub, Ice. Following the series cancellation, she moved to Los Angeles and worked as a club promoter until opening her own bar the Apple Lounge in 2008. [2] She was also part of an Oxygen reality series The World According to Paris, which followed the exploits of celebutante Paris Hilton.

Playboy Club Chain of night clubs

The Playboy Club was initially a chain of nightclubs and resorts owned and operated by Playboy Enterprises. The first Playboy Club opened in Chicago in 1960. Each club generally featured a Living Room, a Playmate Bar, a Dining Room, and a Club Room. Members and their guests were served food and drinks by Playboy Bunnies, some of whom were featured in Playboy magazine. The clubs offered name entertainers and comedians in the Club Rooms, and local musicians and the occasional close-up magician in the Living Rooms. Starting with the London and Jamaica club locations, the Playboy Club became international in scope.

It was announced on August 13, 2011, that Oxygen did not renew the series for a second season. The series' eight-week run averaged only 293,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating among adults 18-49, making it Oxygen's least-watched series of 2011. The World According to Paris follows the daily life of Paris Hilton. It was filmed from November 2010, with Hilton's court-ordered community service stemming from her arrest in Las Vegas, Nevada for cocaine possession, to February 2011, with her birthday party, the series co-starred Brooke Mueller, Lexi Dreyfus, Jennifer Rovero, Allison Melnick, Brooke Brinson, Hilton's then-boyfriend Cy Waits, and Kathy Hilton.
