Allan Rauli Kristian "Allu" Tuppurainen (born 1 April 1951) is a Finnish actor and screenwriter residing in Vaasa. He began acting in Finnish film in the early 1970s and has made a number of appearances in Finnish film ever since, appearing in many films such as the 1983 James Bond spoof Agentti 000 ja kuoleman kurvit where he acted alongside actors such as Ilmari Saarelainen and Tenho Saurén.

Tuppurainen is best known for his role as the troll Rölli in the similarly named children's TV show and films. [1] As well as starring as the main character, Tuppurainen has written and directed the show, and composed music for it. He released the music on albums which he has sold over 550,000 copies. [2]

He has made several appearances on Finnish television in 2002 and 2004. In 2007 he scriptwrote and voice-acted in Röllin Sydän ( Quest for a Heart ).

Rölli (sometimes called Rollo in English is a character from Finnish television portrayed by Allan "Allu" Tuppurainen. The character originally appeared in segments on the children's TV show Pikku Kakkonen on YLE's Channel 2 in 1986. Original episodes were produced until 2001 and older episodes have been seen in constant reruns on the program. In these segments, Rölli would tell stories of his amazing adventures while often criticising and questioning public norm or the activities of people.

Hanna Maria Karjalainen became known in 2003 when she won the Haluatko filmitähdeksi competition, where the prize was the central role in the film Levottomat 3. Karjalainen acted in the 2004 movie, but the role was more minor than promised. Before that, Karjalainen had acted in a minor role in the 2001 film Rölli ja metsänhenki.

Jussi Lampi is a Finnish musician and long-time actor. Lampi has appeared in many films and TV shows, including The Last Border (1993), V2 - jäätynyt enkeli (2007), Matti (2006), Pelikaanimies (2004), Rölli ja metsänhenki (2001), Ansa ja Oiva and Ruusun aika. It is believed that Lampi started his recording career in the band Bodyguards. Lampi has played and is still playing in the band Pink Flamingos since 1993. The band has published one album, Pink Flamingos, through Strawberry Records. Currently Lampi plays the drums and is a background singer in Timo Rautiainen's band. Lampi is 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m) tall. Tuomas Kantelinen is a Finnish composer. He studied composition at the Sibelius Academy with Eero Hämeenniemi. Rolli: Amazing Tales is a 1991 children's fantasy-comedy film. It stars Allu Tuppurainen, Sari Mällinen, Jussi Lampi, Rolf Labbart, Risto Kaskilahti and Harri Hyttinen. The film was nominated for and won 3 Jussi Awards in 1992 including for Best Costume Design and Best Make-Up. Sari Mällinen also won Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Maahiskeiju.

Taavi Vartia is a Finnish Film director, script writer and writer. Taavi Vartia has since 1990 planned, directed and produced programmes for all of Finland's national television channels: YLE TV1, YLE TV2, MTV3 and Nelonen, across a range of genres including drama, entertainment, music, profiles and documentaries. Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods is a 2001 Finnish fantasy film directed by Olli Saarela. It is the second film based on the television series Rölli, the first being Rölli – hirmuisia kertomuksia (1991).

<i>Quest for a Heart</i> 2007 Finnish film

Quest for a Heart is a 2007 British/Finnish/Russian/German animated film directed by Pekka Lehtosaari. It is based on the Rölli character created by Allu Tuppurainen, and while it is the third Rölli film, it is also the first Rölli animation. It is also one of the first feature-length animated films produced in Finland, before that Santa Claus and the Magic Drum was made in 1996 and The Emperor's Secret in 2006. With its over 5 million euro budget, Quest for a Heart is one of the most expensive Finnish films.
