Bridgewater Township is a township in Somerset County in the U.S. state of New Jersey, located within the heart of the Raritan Valley region. Situated within Central New Jersey and crisscrossed by several major highways, the township is known for being both the regional commercial hub for Somerset County and as a suburban bedroom community of New York City within the New York metropolitan area. The township is located roughly 32 miles (51 km) away from Manhattan and about 20 miles (32 km) away from Staten Island.

The North Carolina women's lacrosse team won the ACC tournament in 2002 and their first Division 1 national championship in 2013.
The 2014 ACC women's and men's lacrosse conferences will include Notre Dame and Syracuse after those teams joined the ACC in July 2013. In 2016, she was selected by the Boston Storm with their second pick overall in the inaugural United Women's Lacrosse League Draft.
Caitlin Van Sickle is an American field hockey coach and former player. From Wilmington, Delaware, she was a standout athlete at Tower Hill School where she was the state's athlete of the year in both field hockey and lacrosse. She played field hockey at the collegiate level for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2009 to 2012, receiving numerous honors including being a three-time All-American and a three-time Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defender of the Year. She won a national championship with the Tar Heels in 2009 and helped them make appearances at three further.
Erin Matson is an American field hockey coach and former player who is the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels field hockey team. She has led the Tar Heels to win five NCAA championships, four as a player and one as a coach (2023).
Stephen Patrick DeMaine Kelly is an American lacrosse player who plays for Cannons Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). Kelly plays as a midfielder and face-off specialist and scored the first goal in PLL history in 2019. Kelly was selected to play in the 2021 PLL All Star Game in San Jose, California.
Jenny Levy is an American college lacrosse coach and former player who has been the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels women's lacrosse program since its inception in 1994. She has led North Carolina to three NCAA championships and has twice been named the National Coach of the Year. She was also named as the head coach of the United States women's national lacrosse team in November 2017. She was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2021.
Allyson Marie Sentnor is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder or forward for the Utah Royals of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team. She played college soccer for the North Carolina Tar Heels before being picked first overall by the Royals in the 2024 NWSL Draft. Sentnor played for the youth national team at every age level and captained the under-20 team to bronze at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
Julia Carroll Dorsey is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for USL Super League club Dallas Trinity FC. A former two-sport athlete, she played soccer and lacrosse at the University of North Carolina, winning the NCAA championship with the lacrosse team in 2022. She was selected by the North Carolina Courage in the 2024 NWSL Draft.
Caitlyn Molly Wurzburger is an American lacrosse player. She became the country's all-time top scorer in high school at the American Heritage School in Delray Beach, Florida, and was the top-ranked recruit of the class of 2020. She played college lacrosse for the North Carolina Tar Heels, where she won the 2022 NCAA tournament. She represented the United States national team at the 2022 World Games.
Ryleigh Anne Heck is an American college field hockey player for the North Carolina Tar Heels. She has won two NCAA championships with the Tar Heels, in 2022 and 2023, and was named the NFHCA national player of the year in 2023.
Madeline Grace Dahlien is an American college soccer player who plays as a forward for the North Carolina Tar Heels. A two-sport athlete in high school, Dahlien won multiple Minnesota state track and field championships at Edina High School. She won the 2024 national championship with the Tar Heels. She won bronze with the United States at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
