It is the first season after restructuring, with 18 teams featuring in the 2023 season. However, MFL announced that next season there will be only 16 teams as they rejected both Sarawak United and Melaka United due to failed licensing appeal. The league shrunk to 15 teams after Petaling Jaya City officially withdrawn from the league due to the expansion of the league and increased foreign player quota, which are diverted from the club's main vision. On 5 January 2023, UiTM officially withdrawn from the league due to the financial problem and will be moving to M3 League. The new season will be 14 teams which the campaign will kick-off on 24th February 2023.

The Men's Super-G World Cup 2022/2023 is scheduled to consist of six events, including the final. After four events, both defending champion Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and last year's runner-up Marco Odermatt have won two races each and finished second once, but Odermatt leads the current standings by 28 points due to the fourth result.
