Alternative Chartbusters is the second studio album by UK band the Boys, released in 1978. [2] [3] "Brickfield Nights" was the first single. [4]
The Boys released their self-titled debut studio album in November 1977. During the Christmas period, the band released a "Run Rudolph Run" single under the alter ego the Yobs. Alternative Chartbusters sees the band moving away from punk rock into power pop territory. [1]

While promoting Alternative Chartbusters, the Boys' popularity in mainland Europe had gone mainstream, aided by their work ethic and Hollywood Brats' (which keyboardist Casino Steel was previously in) reputation. Author Dave Thompson, in his book Alternative Rock (2000), wrote: "Boysmania swept Holland; graffiti peppered walls in Norway", though they were mostly ignored in the UK. [1]
Thompson said the band "push[ed] past the rent-a-punk barriers of their debut [album]," while Alternative Chartbusters "peaks with 'Brickfield Nights,' rewriting the rules for solid punk pop-rock." [1]

Three Imaginary Boys is the debut studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 11 May 1979 by Fiction Records. It was later released in the United States, Canada, and Australia with a different track listing as a compilation album titled Boys Don't Cry.
Ramones is the debut studio album by the American punk rock band Ramones, released on April 23, 1976, by Sire Records. After Hit Parader editor Lisa Robinson saw the band at a gig in New York City, she wrote several articles about the group and asked Danny Fields to be their manager. Fields agreed and convinced Craig Leon to produce Ramones, and the band recorded a demo for prospective record labels. Leon persuaded Sire president Seymour Stein to listen to the band perform, and he later offered the band a recording contract. The Ramones began recording in January 1976, needing only seven days and $6,400 to record the album.
Pop-punk is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. It is defined by its fast-paced, energetic tempos, and emphasis on classic pop songcraft, as well as adolescent and anti-suburbia themes. Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do is the third full-length album released by Christian rock band Relient K. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album, but the award that year ended up being won by Worldwide by Audio Adrenaline. This album was initially released with four different covers, each one depicting a separate car wreck. In November 2003, a fifth cover was released, which showed all four cars in a junkyard. That is now the only version of the CD still in print, although a very small amount the four original covers can still be found. It was also released as a combo pack with Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand for a few years around Christmas time. The album peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard 200.

The Nervous Eaters, one of Boston's first punk rock / rock and roll bands with Steve Cataldo on vocals and guitar, Robb Skeen on bass, and Jeff Wilkinson on drums. Forming in 1973 they had used the name some years earlier, but had not performed live under it. As the Rhythm Assholes, they had backed local rock legend Willie Alexander on his single "Kerouac" and in concert. After a name change, they made their debut at the hub of the city's alternative music scene, the Rathskeller—known as the Rat—in March 1976. Their first single, "Loretta", appeared later that year on the club's Rat label.
