Elsa Amanda Edgren (born 24 August 1993) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club Sporting de Huelva.
Originally from Kåhög, Sweden, Edgren signed with Swedish side, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in the Damallsvenskan, the top division of women's soccer in Sweden, at age 18. [1] She made her debut for the club during a match against Linköping FC in which the teams tied 0-0. [2] Edgren served an assist to Jenny Hallstenson helping Göteborg defeat KIF Örebro 3-1 on 6 August 2011. [3] She finished the 2011 season having played in six matches. Göteborg won the Swedish Cup the same year. [2]
During the 2012 season, Edgren made 1 start in 11 appearances for Göteborg. [2] She scored two goals during the season: one during a 1-2 defeat against Vittsjö and the other during a 5-0 victory against Umeå. [2] [4] Göteborg was runner-up for the Swedish Super Cup 2012 losing 2-1 to LdB FC Malmö. [5] In April 2013, Göteborg defeated 2012 Damallsvenskan champions, Tyresö FF to win the Swedish Supercup. [6] Edgren returned to the squad for the 2013 season. She scored her first goal of the season during a 5-1 win against Sunnanå on 13 April. [2] [7]

She spent most of her professional career playing in the Swedish league Damallsvenskan, which she won three times with her club LdB FC Malmö, in 2010, 2011, and 2013. Melis also won the Swedish Supercup with Malmö in 2011, and was briefly with the Swedish teams Linköping and Göteborg. She was the Damallsvenskan top scorer three times, in 2008, 2010, and 2011. In 2016, she moved to the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the US, playing for Seattle Reign for one season, before retiring from professional football.

The 2012 Damallsvenskan, part of the 2012 Swedish football season, was the 25th season of Damallsvenskan since its establishment in 1988. The 2012 fixtures were released on 8 December 2011. The season began on 9 April 2012 and ended on 3 November 2012. LdB FC Malmö were the defending champions, having won their 7th title the previous season. In an interesting season finish Malmö had a five points advantage over Tyresö two days before the end. On the second last matchday though Malmö only drew, while Tyresö won and the teams then met on the final matchday to play for the championship. Due to a better goal difference Tyresö won its first title after a late goal for a 1–0 win.

The season ran from 3 April to 16 October, the second-latest start to a season ever. Linköpings FC were the reigning champions, but the former Swedish champions Jitex were back after three years away. Tyresö FF were promoted from the 1st division North, and played in the Damallsvenskan for the first time since 1999.
