Amanda Pilke (born 2 March 1990, in Joensuu) is a Finnish film and television actress.

Career

Pilke started her career when she was 12, making her debut in the 2003 film Pearls and Pigs . Her second film role was in Forbidden Fruit , a 2009 film directed by Dome Karukoski, for which she received the Jussi Award in the Best Supporting Actress category. She did also television roles during the 2000s. [1]

In 2012, Pilke played the role of Milla in Naked Harbour , directed by Aku Louhimies, and the role of Zara in Purge , directed by Antti Jokinen. Milla's role included sex scenes and as Zara she played a sex slave. She has said that Louhimies used harsh methods as a director. [2] Playing in these films was a mentally exhausting experience for her and she stopped taking new acting roles after it. [1]

After not acting in years, in 2018, Pilke played a small role in the television series Syke. Her bigger comeback role was in the 2023 television series Rosvopankki. [1]

The film was selected as the Finnish entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make it to the final shortlist. At the 2013 Jussi Award, the film received eight nominations, including Best Film, Best Direction and Best Costume Design. Omerta 6/12 is a 2021 Finnish action thriller film directed by Aku Louhimies, based on Ilkka Remes' 2006 novel, 6/12. It tells the story of an attack planned by Serbian terrorists on the presidential palace in Helsinki during the reception for Finland's Independence Day. The film was originally to be directed by Antti J. Jokinen, but having fallen ill, Jokinen was replaced by Louhimies. Omerta stars Jasper Pääkkönen as the main character, with a supporting cast of Nanna Blondell, Sverrir Gudnason, Cathy Belton, Juhan Ulfsak, Dragomir Mrsic, Slaven Spanovic, Märt and Priit Pius, and Mirtel Pohla.

Reunion 3: Singles Cruise is a 2021 Finnish comedy film directed by Renny Harlin. It is the third entry of the Reunion film series, and the only film in the film series that Taneli Mustonen, who directed the previous films, was not involved in making. In the film, friends Tuomas and Niklas take their mutual friend Antti, who suffers from unemployment and loneliness, on a single cruise to improve his self-esteem and mental health, with bad consequences. Constellation is a sci-fi psychological thriller television series created by Peter Harness, based on a concept by Sean Jablonski. The first season was released on 21 February 2024, beginning with the initial three episodes. It stars Noomi Rapace, Jonathan Banks, James D'Arcy, Julian Looman, Henry David, William Catlett, and Barbara Sukowa. In May 2024, the series was canceled after one season.

Antero "Antti" Rokka is a fictional character in Väinö Linna's 1954 war novel The Unknown Soldier. Antero Rokka is a well-known figure in the story, and he has taken on an almost archetypal role in Finnish culture. According to Väinö Linna's own testimony, Rokka's character is based on Linna's comrade-in-arms, Viljam Pylkäs. It is also said that Linna borrowed the character's name from a real-life Ingrian soldier, Antti Rokka, whom Linna would have gotten to know after the war, and that the Rokka in the book would also have the character traits of the real Rokka.
