The Amani Coalition was a political party alliance in Kenya.

Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Africa with 47 semiautonomous counties governed by elected governors. History

The alliance was established to support the candidacy of Musalia Mudavadi in the 2013 general elections. Its members were the United Democratic Forum Party (UDF), KANU and New Ford Kenya. [1]

Musalia Mudavadi Kenyan politician

Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi is a Kenyan politician, who served as the seventh Vice President of Kenya in 2002 and as Deputy Prime Minister from 2008- 2012 May when he resigned officially to join the presidential race. He is the current Party Leader of Amani National Congress (ANC) after decamping from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) led by the prime minister Raila Odinga in 2012 where before his resignation he served as the deputy party leader.He was third in the Kenyan general election, 2013.

The United Democratic Forum Party (UDF) was a political party in Kenya.

Kenya African National Union Kenyan political party (Founded 1960, sole legal party 1982-1991. Absorbed the National Development Party in 2002.)

The Kenya African National Union (KANU) is a Kenyan political party that ruled for nearly 40 years after Kenya's independence from British colonial rule in 1963 until its electoral loss in 2002. It was known as Kenya African Union (KAU) from 1944 to 1952. KAU was banned by the colonial government from 1952 to 1960.It was re-established by James Gichuru in 1960 and renamed to KANU on 14 May 1960 after a merger with Tom Mboya's Kenya Independence Movement.

It is headed by Kalonzo Musyoka, who ran for president in 2007 and served as the vice-president in the Grand Coalition of Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga. It is now a member of the main opposition NASA.

Jeremiah Ngayu Kioni is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Party of National Unity and was elected to represent the Ndaragwa Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007. Jeremiah Kioni is remembered for having issued a threat of PNU pulling out of the Grand Coalition because of what he termed continued frustration by the ODM party over President Kibaki judiciary nominations. He is a friend to Jamleck Irungu Kamau.

Eugene Wamalwa Kenyan politician

Eugene Ludovic Wamalwa is a Kenyan politician who is the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Devolution and ASALs, an expansion of the former Ministry of Devolution. Until 26 January 2018, he was Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation. He is also a former minister for Justice. He belongs to the Jubilee Party and was elected to represent the Saboti Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007.

Reverend Moses Akaranga is a Kenyan politician who served as the first governor of Vihiga county having been defeated by Dr. Wilberforce Ottichilo in August 2017. He is also former Member of parliament for Sabatia constituency, having defeated Musalia Mudavadi of KANU from the Sabatia Constituency seat in the 2002 elections on a Ford-Kenya ticket. He served only one term and was defeated by Mudavadi, who was now representing Orange Democratic Movement at the 2007 elections.

The United Democratic Movement (UDM) is a political party that was founded in 1999 by politicians who were at the time considederd to be renegades from the then ruling party Kenya African National Union but was denied registration by the then head of state Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi and most of its then leaders went to other parties by the time of the 2002 general elections.

2013 Kenyan general election

General elections were held in Kenya on 4 March 2013. Voters elected the President, members of the National Assembly and new Senate, as well as County Governors and Representatives. They were the first elections held under the new constitution, which was approved in a 2010 referendum, and were also the first run by the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The New Forum for the Restoration of Democracy–Kenya, commonly known as New Ford Kenya was a political party in Kenya.

The National Vision Party of Kenya is a political party founded, by former cabinet Minister Nicholas Biwott in 2008, in the fall out of his failed attempts to seize control of former ruling party the Kenya African National Union from Uhuru Kenyatta. In December 2012, the party entered a four party coalition including the New Ford Kenya, United Democratic Movement and Kenya African National Union to field a single presidential candidate at the 2013 general elections.

The City Council Cemetery Land Scandal is a scandal that in March 2010, resulted in the Kenyan Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi coming under investigation by the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission(KACC) over a Sh283 million cemetery land fraud at the Nairobi City Council. KACC officials said that they wanted to establish whether the minister was party to the fraud in which the City Council of Nairobi bought land valued at Sh24 million for nearly Sh300 million. Mudavadi however protested his innocence and said KACC was being unfair by accusing him without giving him a chance to be heard. Investigations are currently ongoing into the matter.

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy is a coalition of multiple political parties, built around the triumvirate of Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetangula, to contest the Kenya general elections of 2013. The members of the coalition are Orange Democratic Movement, Wiper Democratic Movement, Amani National Congress, FORD-Kenya, Kenya Social Congress, KADU–Asili, Peoples Democratic Party, Mkenya Solidarity Movement, Chama Cha Uzalendo, Muungano Development Movement Party of Kenya, United Democratic Movement, Chama Cha Mwananchi, Federal Party of Kenya Following the hotly contested elections that saw Jubilee alliance win, Cord filed a petition contesting the results. The Supreme Court rejected Cord's petition and declared Kenyatta the president-elect.

The National Alliance (TNA) was a political party in Kenya. It attained its current identity when it was taken over by Uhuru Kenyatta and rebranded as the vehicle for his 2012 presidential campaign.

The National Super Alliance, known by the abbreviation NASA, is a Kenyan political coalition of opposition center-left parties that was formed in January 2017.
