Amasa Hines is an American rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas.
Amasa Hines is a five piece rock band based in Little Rock, AR. Formed in 2013, their influences span a diverse spectrum from Soul to Indie Rock. The tight-knit group skillfully shapes their songs from homages, snapshots, skeletons and obsessions. Their lush, dynamic arrangements provide the platform for lyrical content sourced from observing intimate relationships, nature, and the perceived divine. The band sites TV On The Radio, Spoon, Shabazz Palaces and Radiohead as influences, among other.
A new five-song EP "Ivory Loving Glass" was released late in 2018 and is to followed by a full-length follow up to their debut album “All The World There Is."
In 2012, Amasa Hines was listed as one of "12 Arkansas Bands You Should Be Listening to Now" by Paste Magazine [1] and also earned the "Reader's Choice for best band in Arkansas" award as designated by the Arkansas Times. [2] In 2014, they were listed as one of "10 Southern Rock Bands to Listen to Now" by Southern Living Magazine. [3]
Amasa Hines released their first album "All the World There Is" (2014) independently on CD and Vinyl. [4] Judson Spillyards was quoted by the Arkansas Times as "...not opposed to signing with a label, as long as it's right". [2] The band has recorded sessions on Daytrotter [5] and Audiotree.tv. [6] The full-length album ('All the World There Is") and the Audiotree.tv sessions are available on iTunes. [7]
Amasa Hines had a breakout year in 2016, making appearances at notable festivals all over the United States, including SXSW and Newport Folk Festival. [8] [9]
The Jealous Sound was an American band based in Los Angeles that, as of August 2012, consisted of vocalist and guitarist Blair Shehan, guitarist Michael Richardson, bassist Jeremy Tappero, and drummer Bob Penn. In 2012, Richardson replaced original member, Pedro Benito on lead guitar. Benito has moved into film and television score composition. Categorized as an indie rock band, the Jealous Sound released its second and last full-length album, A Gentle Reminder, on January 31, 2012. As of December 2016, the band was signed to Rise Records.

The Lovely Sparrows is an Austin, Texas based indie rock band currently on Abandoned Love Records and founded by Shawn Jones. Their sound is categorized as indie rock, folk rock, experimental rock, alternative rock, or just rock, blending lush, complex arrangements with sing-along choruses that bring to mind folk-inflected pop and well-written novellas. Pulling Up Floors, Pouring on (New) Paint, released in 2006, captures the gorgeous melodies and warm, organic maladies of front man Shawn Jones. The September 2008 release saw the band embark on its most extensive touring to date, which included CMJ Music Marathon, Pop Montreal and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The Lovely Sparrows premiered the music video directed and animated by Eric Power of Clear Productions for "Year of the Dog" off Bury the Cynic during the 2009 SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The video was honored as one of the 25 best music videos of the year 2008 by MusicForants.com. Bury the Cynics was on the best of list by Fensepost, The Bomb Shelter (#11), the Austinist (#5), Side One: Track One v1 (#7) and Side One: Track One v2 (#1).

Born Cages was a New York City-based indie rock band formed in 2011 by Vlad Holiday. In January 2018, the band officially announced it had split after 6 years of touring and recording. Past members include Vlad Holiday, Matt Maroulakos, Dave Tantao, Amanda Carl, Steve Kellner, Pete Malleo, and Mike Lisa. The band released their final mini-album/EP Exit Signs In A Burning Building around SXSW Music Festival in March 2017, where NPR raved, "Undeniably great songs... Every moment was Instagram-ready, and every song made me want to throw my hands in the air... I look forward to saying, 'I saw them when...'" The album contained lead single "Ain't Gonna Happen", which charted on Spotify's United States Viral 50.
