Amaury Rivera (born June 15, 1962), the current chairman and CEO of Kinetics Systems Caribe, set up the two earliest competitors to the dominant Puerto Rico Telephone Company when the U.S. territory's telecommunication's market was opened to competition in 1996. [ citation needed ]
Rivera holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University. Rivera studied finance at New York University and underwriting at The Bond School.

From 2000 to 2003 Rivera served as corporate senior vice president of strategic marketing in Sunrise, Florida. In addition, he was chief executive officer of Convergence Communications, Inc. [1] [2] He was responsible for a landmark deal at the time in the industry which was the largest publicly announced contract for Guardent for a $27 million channel agreement [3] [4] [5] with Convergence Communications for 24 X 7 managed security services.
Rivera was responsible for the marketing and sales strategy of a joint partnership of Verizon Communications and Grupo IUSA in Mexico, IUSACELL, SA de CV. He served as senior vice president of marketing [6] [7] [8] in 1998–2000.
Rivera was recognized as Mexico's best marketing executive in 1998 by the Mexican Businessmen Chamber. [ citation needed ]
From 1996 to 1998, while in his mid-30s, Rivera was responsible for the start-up of Centennial and Lamda Communications, the first two competitors of the dominant Puerto Rico Telephone Company, as a result of the 1996 Federal Telecommunications Act and the local Puerto Rico Telecommunications Act. Kenneth Davison McClintock-Hernández is a politician who served as the twenty-second Secretary of State of Puerto Rico, one of the four longest serving in that post. Claro Puerto Rico is one of the largest telecommunications services company in Puerto Rico. It is headquartered in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and has operated for almost a century offering voice, data, long distance, broadband, directory publishing and wireless services for the island residents and businesses. It was founded by the Behn brothers, Sosthenes and Hernan. Originally, Puerto Rico Telephone Company eventually spawned ITT Corporation, which was founded by Sosthenes Behn. The company was a public corporation of the government of Puerto Rico for many years until the majority stakes were acquired by GTE in the mid-1990s. It was a subsidiary of Verizon Communications until it was fully acquired by América Móvil in 2007.
Latin Media House, LLC acquired the assets of Casiano Communications Inc. (CCI) effective November 2, 2015 from Chapter 11 at the US Bankruptcy Court. The original company was founded in 1973, by Manuel A. Casiano, who died on May 19, 2017, at the age of 86. Casiano Communications started out publishing a business and financial newsletter on Puerto Rico which evolved over 45 years into the largest English speaking weekly paper Caribbean Business. She is the former president and chief operating officer of Casiano Communications — the largest Hispanic publisher of periodicals and magazines in the United States. Casiano currently serves on the board of directors of Ford Motor Company, Mutual of America and Mead Johnson Nutrition Company.
The Puerto Rican general strike of 1998 began as a strike of Puerto Rico Telephone Company workers to protest a government privatization plan. Three weeks later, an estimated 500,000 people joined a two-day general strike, bringing commerce and travel in Puerto Rico to a standstill. Protests and pickets were mostly peaceful, but in the week before the general strike some infrastructure elements were sabotaged, and two bombs were detonated. The strike failed to stop the privatization plan, and in July a consortium led by GTE bought the PRTC for US$1.9 billion.

David H. Chafey Jr. is a business executive and the current chairman of the board of the Puerto Rico Government Development Bank. Before the GDB, Chafey was the Chief Operating Officer of Popular, Inc. and former President of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico. Chafey is a member of the Caribbean Business Hall of Fame in recognition of him being named one of Puerto Rico's Top Ten Business Leaders for the fifth year in a row in 2008.

Raul "Danny" Vargas is an American businessman, media personality, U.S. Air Force veteran and political activist. He is founder and president of VARCom Solutions, a D.C. area-based marketing and public relations firm. He was the National Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly from 2007 - 2009. Vargas unsuccessfully ran as a Republican in Virginia's 86th House of Delegates district in the 2015 Virginia House of Delegates election, losing to Democrat Jennifer Boysko.
Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort is a marketing professional and the current Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
