Publication history

In June 2010, a limited-run Black Cat series was launched as a tie-in with the The Amazing Spider-Man storylines "The Gauntlet" and "Grim Hunt", written by Jen Van Meter and illustrated by Javier Pulido and Javier Rodríguez, [1] [3] following Felicia Hardy / Black Cat as she reconnects with Peter Parker as he faces off against the Kravinoff family. [4] Titled The Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Black Cat, it was collected as Spider-Man: Black Cat, compiling all the four issues, The Amazing Spider-Man #612, and material from The Many Loves of the Amazing Spider-Man.

Reception

The Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Black Cat received good reviews, [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] in particular for its feminist depiction of how Spider-Man and Felicia Hardy / Black Cat have sex, where "where Felicia is presented as a tough, sexy lady who knows what she wants sexually and unapologetically goes out to get it", compared against other comic books to depict sexuality.
