Ambergris Museum is a Mesoamerican archaeology museum in Belize. It houses ancient Mayan civilization artifacts.

The Ambergris Museum opened in February 1998 in San Pedro Town, Belize. It covers the history of Ambergris Caye from early Mayan culture onwards. [1]

Many parts of the island have been modified by human development since the arrival of coconut plantations in the 17th century, but it remains largely white coral sand with mangrove forest at its center. Its eastern coast runs parallel to the northernmost stretch of the Belize Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Sun also publishes a "Visitor's Guide" each week that features tourism interests in San Pedro and Belize. The Visitor Guide is inserted inside each issue of The San Pedro Sun.

2012: Kurse a di Xtabai is an 80-minute Belizean Creole-language supernatural thriller and the first major feature length dramatic movie to be entirely made in Belize. It was directed by Matthiew Klinck and selected as the opening night movie of the 2012 Belize International Film Festival. It was then taken on a national tour around the country and projected for audiences on an inflatable screen. The movie was made with an entirely Belizean cast, some of which had never acted before.

The El Gran Carnaval de San Pedro is a 150-year-old traditional festival from Mestizo culture, which brought it down to northern Belize, San Pedro and Ambergris Caye. El Gran Carnaval is celebrated to begin the lent season.

Cristina Coc is a leader of the Maya community in southern Belize. She has served as co-spokesperson for the Maya Leadership Alliance and is the founder and executive director of the advocacy organization, the Julian Cho Society. In 2015, she and the MLA were awarded the Equator Prize for their efforts in protecting indigenous rights.

San Pedro Pirates Football Club is a Belizean football team that competes in the Premier League of Belize (PLB). The team is based in San Pedro Town and plays home matches at Ambergris Stadium.
