Ambleside is a 2025 British period drama romance film directed by Mitch Jenkins and starring Ellie Bamber. It is adapted from the novel Prisoner of Paradise by Romesh Gunsekara.
A young woman in 1925 is sent to Mauritius to be under the guardianship of her uncle, and begins a forbidden love affair with a local plantation worker. [1]

Jenkins co-wrote the script with Jason Wingard and Alan Govinden, adapted from the Romesh Gunsekara novel Prisoner of Paradise (2012).
