The Colony is a city in Denton County,Texas,United States,and a suburb of Dallas. The population was 36,328 at the 2010 census.

The 2013 El Paso mayoral election was held on May 11 and June 8,2013,to elect the Mayor of El Paso,Texas. Incumbent Mayor John Cook could not seek another term due to term limits. In the nonpartisan preliminary round was held on May 11,2013,businessman Oscar Leeser and City Councilman Steve Ortega placed first and second with 47% and 21% of the vote,respectively,and because no candidate received a majority,a runoff election was held on June 15. Leeser won the runoff election.
Laura Gibbs Maczka Jordan was the Mayor of Richardson,Texas from 2013 to 2015. She had previously become the first woman elected to the post of Mayor Pro Tem in the City's 57-year history as a home rule city. Maczka was initially elected to the Richardson City Council,Place 4 in May 2011,defeating Karl Voigtsberger by 74.97% to 25.03%. She is believed to be only the 6th woman elected to the city council in the last 40 years.

Primaries were held on March 3 and run-offs were held on July 14.
On May 4,2019,the city of Dallas,Texas,held an election to choose the next Mayor of Dallas. The election began as a nonpartisan blanket primary,no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote so the two top vote-earners Eric Johnson and Scott Griggs advanced to a runoff election on June 8. Incumbent mayor Mike Rawlings was unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Dallas also concurrently elected all 14 members of its city council,and 3 of the 9 total members of the Dallas Independent School District. Johnson won the runoff with 55.61%.

El Pasoans will also be voting for members of the House of Representatives of the United States from the 16th and 23rd districts of Texas,district attorney,United States senator,and president of the United States.

Due to term limits,incumbent mayor Harry LaRosiliere was ineligible to run for a third term.
