The BCCI Corporate Trophy was an Indian cricket competition. Domnic Joseph Muthuswami is an Indian cricketer of Tamil descent who plays for Maharashtra cricket team in domestic cricket and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler, who made his debut for Maharashtra at the age of 30. The 2016–17 Ranji Trophy was the 83rd season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. Unlike previous seasons, the 2016–17 tournament was played at neutral venues. Captains and coaches were supportive of the change. Chhattisgarh cricket team made their debut in the competition, becoming the 28th team to compete in this edition of the Ranji Trophy. Mumbai were the defending champions. Gujarat beat Mumbai in the final by 5 wickets to win their first title.

Vidarbha were the defending champions. The final took place between Vidarbha and Saurashtra, starting on 3 February 2019. Vidarbha defeated Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final, to become the sixth team in the tournament's history to retain their title.

The 2020–21 Ranji Trophy was scheduled to be the 87th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. Saurashtra were the defending champions. However, in January 2021, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the season had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time since the tournament's inception in the 1934–35 season that the Ranji Trophy was not held.

Amol Manohar Jichkar was an Indian cricketer. He played in six first-class and eight List A matches for Vidarbha from 1998/99 to 2001/02. He committed suicide by hanging himself. He was 38 years old.
