Amrutha Srinivasan is an Indian actress who has appeared in Tamil-language films. She is known for her role in the web series Kallachirippu .

Career

Amrutha Srinivasan made her lead film debut in Aviyal playing the only female protagonist in the film. [1] In 2017, she made her Telugu debut with Mental Madhilo in which she portrayed one of the lead actresses before playing one of the leads in the web series Livin' . [2] [3] [4] She later starred in the lead role in the Tamil web series Kallachirippu , for which she garnered acclaim. [5] Regarding her role in the web series, India Today stated that "For once, the heroine isn't a self-sacrificing fantasy. She puts herself and her life first and thinks and behaves like an actual woman." [6] She starred in Dev (2019) as Karthi's friend. [7] [8]

<i>Kallachirippu</i> Indian web series

Kallachirippu is a 2018 Indian Tamil language streaming television series. It has a non-linear narrative structure provided and is hosted by Zee5, a video on demand platform. The web series was directed by Rohit Nandakumar and produced by popular film director Karthik Subbaraj under his own production company Stone Bench Productions. This was Karthik Subbaraj's first web series as a producer and it was the first web series for Stone Bench Productions company. The web series was released on the streaming platform Zee5 on 23 July 2018 and eventually ended up on 30 July 2018 with only 8 episodes. It starred Amrutha Srinivasan in the female lead role while Vikas, Vignesh Shanmugam, Rajalakshmi, Uma, Maheshwaran and Nandakumar played pivotal roles. This web series is also the second web series to be launched by Zee5 network after America Mappillai. The web series received positive reviews from critics and audience for portrayal of women in more prominent identical roles than the male counterparts. The theme of series consists of lust, sexuality, pornography, LGBT, abortion and extramarital affairs apart from love and arranged marriage.

Dev is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language romantic action-adventure film written and directed by Rajath Ravishankar on his directorial debut. The film stars Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh, with Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan playing supportive and pivotal roles in the film. Harris Jayaraj has been roped into score music for the film while cinematography is handled by R. Velraj and editing is done by Anthony L. Ruben. The film marks the first collaboration between Karthi and music director Harris Jayaraj. The film was earlier scheduled to have its theatrical release on the eve of Christmas, and later scheduled to post Thai Pongal but was postponed due to tight race at the box office.

Putham Pudhu Kaalai is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language anthology film, consisting of five short film segments, directed by Sudha Kongara, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Suhasini Maniratnam, Rajiv Menon, and Karthik Subbaraj. The film features an ensemble cast of Jayaram, Kalidas Jayaram, Shruti Haasan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Andrea Jeremiah, Bobby Simha, M. S. Bhaskar, Ritu Varma, Urvashi, Suhasini Maniratnam, Anu Haasan, Kathadi Ramamurthy, Komalam Charuhasan, Gurucharan C, Leela Samson, Sharath Ravi and Vettai Muthukumar among others. The film was entirely shot during the COVID-19 pandemic in India and was set against the backdrop of the country's 21-day lockdown in March 2020. The film was released on Amazon Prime Video on 16 October 2020. A sequel titled Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa released in 2022.

<i>Irudhi Pakkam</i> 2021 film

Irudhi Pakkam is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language thriller film written and directed by Mano Ve Kannathasan and produced by Insomniacs Dream Creations LLP. The film stars Amrutha Srinivasan, Rajesh Balachandiran, Shree Raj and Vignesh Shanmugam in lead roles. The film's music is composed by M. S. Jones Rupert, whilst cinematography is performed by Praveen Balu and edited by Ram Pandian.
