Amy Griffin is an American venture capitalist who founded G9 Ventures, [1] and author. Her 2025 memoir The Tell was an Oprah Book Club pick in March 2025 and became a New York Times bestseller later that month. Griffin was born and grew up in Texas. [6] Her father was CEO of Toot'n Totum, a Texas-based chain of convenience and auto-service stores. [7] She is a graduate of the University of Virginia. [8]
In her twenties, she worked in marketing and promotions at Sports Illustrated magazine. [7] At 27, she married John Griffin, founder of hedge fund Blue Ridge Capital, on May 3, 2003. [9] [7]
