Oksana Serhiyivna Baiul-Farina is a Ukrainian retired competitive figure skater. She is the 1993 world champion and the 1994 Olympic champion in ladies' singles.
Ekaterina "Katia" Alexandrovna Gordeeva is a Russian figure skater. With her late husband Sergei Grinkov, she is the 1988 and 1994 Olympic Champion, a four-time World Champion, a three-time European Champion, the 1990 Goodwill Games champion, 1987 Soviet champion, and 1994 Russian champion in pair skating. After Grinkov's death, Gordeeva continued performing as a singles skater.
Viktor Vasyliovych Petrenko is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater who represented the Soviet Union, the Unified Team, and Ukraine during his career. He is the 1992 Olympic Champion for the Unified Team. Petrenko became the first flagbearer for Ukraine.
Yuka Sato is a Japanese former competitive figure skater and choreographer. She is the 1994 World champion, the 1990 World Junior champion and the 1993 & 1994 Japanese national champion. She placed 7th at the 1992 Winter Olympics and 5th at the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Tatyana Aleksandrovna Navka is a Russian former competitive ice dancer and the wife of Dmitry Peskov. Evgeni Arkadievich Platov is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. He is best known for his partnership with Oksana Grishuk from 1989 to 1998. With Grishuk, he is a two-time Olympic champion, four-time World champion (1994–1997), and three-time European champion (1996–1998).
Suzanne Marie "Suzy" Semanick is an American former figure skater. She competed in ice dance at the 1988 Winter Olympics with Scott Gregory. The pair won the gold medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships twice. She later paired with Ron Kravette and won two bronze medals at the United States Figure Skating Championships. She is now a coach and choreographer in Newark, Delaware and Aston, Pennsylvania.
Figure skating is a sport with participants across the world. Originally based in North America and Europe, the sport has experienced a major expansion in the countries of East Asia. The international governing body of the sport is the International Skating Union (ISU). Only those nations which are members of the International Skating Union are allowed to compete in the figure skating events in the Olympic Games.
Calla Vita Urbanski-Petka is an American former pair skater. With Rocky Marval, she is the 1991 Skate America champion, the 1992 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, and a two-time U.S. national champion (1992–1993). They represented the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics and finished tenth.
The 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships were held at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Medals were awarded in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth) in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. The event was used to determine the U.S. teams for the 1994 Winter Olympics and the 1994 World Championships.
Ron Kravette is a retired American ice dancer. With partner Suzanne Semanick, he won the bronze medal at the United States Figure Skating Championships in 1989 and 1990. After skating with Elizabeth McLean for a time, he teamed with Amy Webster, and they were national bronze medalists in 1994 and 1995, and 4th in the US in 1993 and 1997. They were 1st at the US Olympic Festival in 1993. Kravette also previously skated with partner Colette Huber.They were US Junior Dance champions in 1986. Ron has an AA from Orange Coast College (1983), a BA in History from the University of California, Irvine (1986), an MA in Government from Harvard University (2006), and is currently a PhD candidate in Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
