The 15th Pan-American Games were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between 13 July 2007 and 29 July 2007. The Brazilian delegation consisted of 659 athletes and 267 directors, making a total of 926 people in 41 sports. Competing in their own country, the Brazilian athletes managed to far surpass their own record number of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals obtained in a single edition of the Pan-American Games.

Heena Sidhu is an Indian sport shooter. On 7 April 2014, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to reach number one in world rankings by the International Shooting Sport Federation. In 2013, Sidhu became the first Indian pistol shooter to win a gold medal in an ISSF World Cup finals when she won the 10-metre air pistol event. In 2014, Sidhu was the World record holder in the 10-metre air pistol event with a final score of 203.8. Sidhu is right handed and is right eye dominant.

The nation celebrated its centennial anniversary participating in the Olympics, having participated at every Summer edition since 1912. She also competed at the 2008, 2004 and 2000 Olympic games in the 10 metre air pistol and the 2008 and 2004 Games in the 25 metre pistol events.
Antoaneta Kostadinova, née Boneva is a Bulgarian sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the women's 25 metre pistol. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she won a silver medal in the Women's 10 metre air pistol. In December 2021, Kostadinova came third in the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year ranking, earning 995 points.
Sonia Franquet is a Spanish female sport shooter. At the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and Women's 25 metre pistol.
Yukari Konishi is a Japanese female sport shooter. At the 2004 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's 25 metre pistol. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the Women's 25 metre pistol.
Bobana Veličković was a Serbian sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the Women's 25 metre pistol, finishing in 7th place in 10m.
Heidi Diethelm Gerber is a Swiss female sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the Women's 25 metre pistol. She finished in 35th in the 10 metre air pistol event and in 29th in the 25 metre event. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won the bronze medal in the 25 metre pistol and was 35th in the 10 metre air pistol.
Naphaswan Yangpaiboon is a Thai sport shooter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 10 metre air pistol and the women's 25 metre pistol. She lost to Rahi Sarnobat in the finals of the women's 25 metre pistol at the 2018 Asian Games and bagged a silver.
Ana Luiza Busato Barbachan is a Brazilian sports sailor. She was chosen by Olympic medalist Fernanda Oliveira to be her new partner in the 470 class after Oliveira's 2009 split with Isabel Swan. Barbachan has since competed with Oliveira at two Olympic Games, London 2012 and Rio 2016.

Albania (ALB) competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, represented by the Albanian National Olympic Committee (KOKSH). Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
