Background

After being on hiatus since 2013, the band posted on Twitter images and video clips of them in the studio. In January 2016, the band had confirmed that the hiatus was over and a new full-length album would be released in 2016. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Fearless Records is an American independent record label that was founded in 1994. Fearless is based in Culver City, California, and is best known for its early pop punk moments captured in the Fearless Flush Sampler and Punk Bites releases, as well as additional releases by bands such as Bigwig and Dynamite Boy; and later Sugarcult; Plain White T's; The Aquabats; Amely; and post-hardcore releases by At the Drive-In and Anatomy of a Ghost. However, the label has experimented with different styles in recent years. Metro Station (band) American pop rock band

Metro Station is an American pop rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California by singer Mason Musso and bassist/guitarist Trace Cyrus. In late 2006, the band signed a recording contract with Columbia Records and RED Ink Records. The band is best known for the top 10 Billboard hit single "Shake It" from the group's self-titled debut album. In 2010, tension between Cyrus and Musso caused the band to go on hiatus. In 2011, the band returned, however, it was announced that Cyrus was no longer a part of the group and Musso had purchased the rights to the name. An EP entitled Middle of the Night was released in 2013, which was led by the single "Every Time I Touch You". In 2014, Cyrus and a new drummer, Spencer Steffan, came to the band, and a new single entitled "Love & War" was released. In 2015, the band released a second full-length album, titled Savior. After this, the band went on a U.S and European tour, announcing an EP called Bury Me My Love along with a U.S. 10-year anniversary tour. Just before the tour started, the band announced it would be their final tour and that they were breaking up. They reunited once again in 2019 and released the single "I Hate Society" in 2020.

Anarbor is an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona that was formed in 2003. The band is composed of lead vocalist, bassist and only constant member Slade Echeverria, guitarist Adam Juwig, guitarist Danny Stravers, and drummer William Wilson. Initially known as "Troop 101", the band later changed their name to "Anarbor". In April 2008, the band was signed to Hopeless Records while still attending high school in Arizona. Since then, the band has released four EPs and three studio albums.

Man Overboard (band) American pop punk band

Man Overboard is an American pop punk band from Mt. Laurel and Williamstown, New Jersey that began in 2008. Since then, they had released two EPs, an acoustic EP, a split with Boston pop punk band Transit, a compilation and four full-length albums. Taking influence from such pop punk acts as Blink-182, Saves the Day, and Taking Back Sunday, Man Overboard played a brand of upbeat and poppy pop punk with the emotion of 90s emo acts such as The Promise Ring. The band was signed to Rise Records. They are well known for their motto within the pop punk scene to "Defend Pop Punk". On January 28, 2016 they announced a hiatus on their official website; the hiatus ended on August 2, 2018 when the band announced a 10-year anniversary tour.

<i>Further Sky</i> Extended play by Basement

Further Sky is an EP by English rock band Basement. The band went on hiatus in July 2012, prior to the release of their second album Colourmeinkindness in October 2012. They began practicing again around Christmas 2013, composing the song "Jet". Whilst guitarist Alex Henery was in the United States, the rest of the band wrote another song, "Summer's Colour". In late January 2014, they announced the end of their musical hiatus. Along with a cover of the Suede song "Animal Nitrate", the group recorded the aforementioned original songs in early 2014. Recording was done in secret at Livingston Studio 1 in London, with producer Dan Goudie.

DNCE American dance-rock band

DNCE is an American band, which consists of lead singer Joe Jonas, drummer Jack Lawless, and guitarist JinJoo Lee. Bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle was a part of the band from when it started in 2015 to when it went on hiatus in 2018. DNCE's work primarily consists of dance-rock, pop rock, and funk-pop music. The band signed with Republic Records, who released their debut single, "Cake by the Ocean", which was released on September 18, 2015. The song reached the top 10 on several charts, including on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at No. 9. Their debut extended play, Swaay, was released about a month later. Their self-titled debut studio album was released in November 2016. They were also nominated for Favorite New Artist for the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards and Best Song to Lip Sync and Best Anthem for the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards. The group performed at the 2017 Fashion Meets Music Festival. In February 2022, DNCE returned after their hiatus.

<i>13 Voices</i> 2016 studio album by Sum 41

13 Voices is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Sum 41, released on October 7, 2016. It is the first Sum 41 album to be released through independent label Hopeless Records after the band fulfilled their contract with major label Island Records. It is also Sum 41's first album to feature drummer Frank Zummo, who replaced original drummer Steve Jocz and their first album since the return of guitarist Dave Baksh in 2015, as well as their first as a five-piece, as Tom Thacker, who replaced Baksh in 2009, remained with the band. On May 11, 2016, the band announced that they had signed to Hopeless Records to release the crowd-funded project.

<i>To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere</i> 2016 studio album by Thrice

To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere is the ninth studio album by American rock band Thrice. The album was released on May 27, 2016, through Vagrant Records. To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere is Thrice's first release after a four-year hiatus that lasted from mid-2012 to mid-2015, and the band's first album of original material in five years since 2011's Major/Minor. During the hiatus, most of the band members continued performing music and pursued other interests, which included moving to other cities or states with their new families.

"Black Honey" is a song by American rock band Thrice. The song was released on April 27, 2016 as the lead single from their ninth studio album, ToBe Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere. It was the first single the band released following their breakup in 2012 and subsequent reunion in 2015. The political track uses the imagery of a man swatting at a beehive in search of honey as a metaphor for the creation of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as a consequence of United States involvement in the Middle East, using the titular "black honey" as a euphemism for oil. The song was a large comeback hit for the band, charting at No. 11 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, their highest-charting single to date and their first charting single since "Image of the Invisible" in 2005.

"Makeshift Love" is a 2015 song from Good Charlotte's sixth studio album Youth Authority. The single was the first song by Good Charlotte after their return from a four-year hiatus. "Makeshift Love" was also the band's first ever song to reach the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart.
