The Pala Alpitour is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the Santa Rita district of Turin, Italy. It is a few metres east of the Olympic Stadium. The arena has a seating capacity of 12,350 when it is configured for ice hockey, and it is the largest indoor sporting arena in Italy. The arena was originally built at a cost of €87 million, for the 2006 Winter Olympics, and along with the Torino Esposizioni, it hosted the ice hockey events.

She was well known for several large-scale museum projects, including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris (1980–86) with ACT Architecture, the Contemporary Art Gallery at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the restoration of Palazzo Grassi in Venice (1985–86), and the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco with HOK (firm) (2000–2003). Aulenti was one of the few women designing in the postwar period in Italy, where Italian designers sought to make meaningful connections to production principles beyond Italy. This avant-garde design movement blossomed into an entirely new type of Italian architecture, one full of imaginary utopias leaving standardization to the past.

Teresa Sapey is an Italian architect and interior designer. She studied at Architecture Politecnic University of Turin in 1985, and completed her academic education in París with a BFA degree from the Parsons School of Design and a Master in La Villette. In 1990 she moved to Madrid, where she founded her own architecture studio. Sapey is a teacher of Plastic Investigation at Universidad Camilo José Cela in Madrid and has visited professors at several foreign universities. She is part of the Hotel Puerta América Project, designing the parking. In this project, 18 architects worked together such as Jean Nouvel, Arata Isozaki, Norman Foster and Zaha Hadid.
The New Exit for the Uffizi Gallery, designed by architects Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei, was the project that won the closed international design competition launched in 1998 with the purpose of expanding the museum's exhibition space and creating a grand exit. Many world-renowned architects participated, among whom were: Mario Botta, Norman Foster, Gae Aulenti, Hans Hollein and Vittorio Gregotti. As part of the Grandi Uffizi initiative, a 60 million euro renovation and development project for the overall museum, the loggia's construction became a controversial subject for Florentines and thus has been at a standstill since its original scheduled completion date of 2003. The project was envisioned as a large steel and stone loggia that would echo its counterpart, the Loggia dei Lanzi on Piazza della Signoria. While at the same time, it would comment on the precarious balance that exists between tradition and modernity in a context that seldom sees large architectural change.

Eugenio Gentili Tedeschi was an Italian architect, designer, teacher and writer active in Italian building and product design from the 1940s until his death in 2005. Through his popular lectures while professor of design at Milan Politecnico and through his numerous books, he influenced many of the designers and architects working in Italy and abroad today. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation have recognized Gentili for his actions in the Italian Resistance in the Val d'Aosta during World War 2. His architectural legacy in the form of buildings can be seen in Milan and elsewhere in Italy today.
