Andrew Meiklejohn FRCP (1899 - 27 October 1970) was a Scottish respiratory physician, who entered the tuberculosis service, first in Sheffield and subsequently in Manchester, before studying lead poisoning and silicosis in the pottery trade. In 1963 he gave the Milroy Lecture. [1] [2] [3]

Meiklejohn Glacier is a glacier, 12 nautical miles (22 km) long and 4 nautical miles (7 km) wide, flowing southwest from the Dyer Plateau of Palmer Land, Antarctica, to George VI Sound, immediately south of Moore Point. In its lower reaches the south side of this glacier merges with Millett Glacier. It was first surveyed in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under John Rymill, and was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1954 for Ian F. Meiklejohn, a radio operator of the BGLE.

Sir William Church, 1st Baronet

Sir William Selby Church, 1st Baronet, was a successful British physician to St Bartholomew's Hospital, president of the Royal College of Physicians from 1899 to 1905 and president of the Royal Society of Medicine from 1907 to 1909 and also in 1893. He is best remembered for his ability to direct policy of the associations he belonged to.

The Milroy Lectures are given on topics in public health, to the Royal College of Physicians, London. They were set up by money left by Gavin Milroy, who died in 1886.
