Andrew Kenneth Rappleyea is an American football tight end for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Early years

Rappleyea grew up in Millbrook, New York and initially attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School. [1] He transferred to Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts after his sophomore year. [2] While at Milton Academy, Rappleyea boarded in Wolcott House for all of his three years. Rappleyea caught 27 passes for 517 yards in nine games during his junior season. [3] As a senior he had 23 catches for 499 yards and six touchdowns. [4]

Rappleyea was rated a four-star recruit and one of the top tight end prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. [5] He originally ccommitted to play college football at Michigan over offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, and North Carolina. [6] Rappleyea later flipped his commitment to Penn State. [7]

College career

Rappleyea played in three games while he redshirted his true freshman season at Penn State. [8]

The 2013 Penn State Nittany Lions football team represented Pennsylvania State University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Bill O'Brien and played its home games in Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania. They were a member of the Big Ten Conference and its Leaders Division. Penn State was ineligible to play in a bowl game for the 2013 season, the second season of a four-year ban, due to NCAA sanctions imposed in the wake of the Penn State child sex abuse scandal.
