Politics of Lithuania takes place in a framework of a unitary semi-presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the president of Lithuania is the head of state and the prime minister of Lithuania is the head of government,and of a multi-party system.
A semi-presidential republic,or dual executive republic,is a republic in which a president exists alongside a prime minister and a cabinet,with the latter two being responsible to the legislature of the state. It differs from a parliamentary republic in that it has an executive president independent of the legislature;and from the presidential system in that the cabinet,although named by the president,is responsible to the legislature,which may force the cabinet to resign through a motion of no confidence.

Hassan Diab is a Lebanese academic,engineer and politician who served as the prime minister of Lebanon from 21 January 2020 to 10 September 2021. He did not retain his post in the Groysman Government that was installed on 14 April 2016. Abromavičius was Director General of Ukroboronprom,Ukraine's largest defense industry enterprise,from 31 August 2019 until 6 October 2020. He is a majority shareholder of Ukrainian agricultural company Agro Region.

Saulius Skvernelis is a Lithuanian politician who served as prime minister of Lithuania between 2016 and 2020. Though he was an independent politician,he was backed by the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and was a member of its parliamentary group until 2022,as a result of which he became the first head of government in European history primarily backed by a green party.
The Lithuanian Regions Party,also translated as the Lithuanian Party of Regions,is a political party in Lithuania. It was founded in 2018 as the Social Democratic Labour Party of Lithuania following a split of members from Social Democratic Party of Lithuania after the LSDP's decision to exit a coalition government with the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union in 2017.
Gitanas Nausėda is a Lithuanian politician,economist and banker who is serving as the ninth and current president of Lithuania since 2019. He was previously director of monetary policy at the Bank of Lithuania from 1996 to 2000 and chief economist to the chairman of SEB bankas from 2008 to 2018.
