Andrius Palionis (born 5 June 1975) [1] is a Lithuanian politician. He served as Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis from 7 August 2019 to 11 December 2020. [2] [3] He is affiliated with the Social Democratic Labour Party of Lithuania.
Politics of Lithuania takes place in a framework of a unitary semi-presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the president of Lithuania is the head of state and the prime minister of Lithuania is the head of government,and of a multi-party system.
A semi-presidential republic,or dual executive republic,is a republic in which a president exists alongside a prime minister and a cabinet,with the latter two being responsible to the legislature of the state.
