Andrzej Piotr Grabowski (born 15 March 1952) is a Polish actor, singer and comedian. He is best known for playing the role of Ferdynand Kiepski in the TV series The Lousy World . [1]

Career

Grabowski graduated from Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków in 1974, and shortly afterwards started to perform at Juliusz Słowacki Theatre. Two years later he starred in the play Przepraszam, czy tu biją. During his studies in Kraków, Grabowski debuted in the full-length movie, Odejścia, powroty. He played only supporting roles in films until 1989, when he played one of the main characters in the movie Kapitał, czyli jak zrobić pieniądze w Polsce.

Grabowski gained widespread popularity in 1999 when he started to play the main character Ferdynand Kiepski in the TV series The Lousy World . The show is still on air.

Grabowski's other notable appearances include the music video for "Pokaż mi niebo," a song by Polish band Feel, and the third season of Polish version of the French game show Fort Boyard . He is also known for his Polish dubbing for characters in movies such as Toy Story 3 and Chicken Little .

Grabowski was awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis in 2007 for outstanding contribution to Polish culture. [2]

Personal life

Grabowski was born on 15 March 1952 in Chrzanów, Poland. He was married to actress Anna Tomaszewska; the pair divorced in 2008. [3] The marriage produced two daughters: Zuzanna and Katarzyna. Grabowski's son-in-law (and Zuzanna's husband) is Paweł Domagała.

On 12 June 2009 Grabowski married Anita Kruszewska, a make-up artist [4] with which he divorced in February 2018. [5] From 2020 he is in a relationship with actress Aldona Grochal. [6] [7] [8]

His best man was the Polish actor Jan Nowicki. [9]

Dezerter, founded as SS-20 in May 1981 in Warsaw, is one of the most popular punk bands from Poland. The band was founded by three students of Warsaw's vocational high school (technikum) - Robert "Robal" Matera (guitar), Krzysztof Grabowski (drums), and Dariusz "Stepa" Stepnowski (bass). All three were born in 1963, and went to the same class. From the beginning Grabowski wrote lyrics, and Matera music. The three classmates originally planned to name their band Sektor A, but after some time changed their minds and named it SS-20. Soon afterwards, they were joined by another student of the same school, Dariusz "Skandal" Hajn, who, as Grabowski later stated, "looked like a real punkrocker". The band started regular rehearsals in the summer of 1981. With fast guitar riffs and intelligent lyrics written by Grabowski, Dezerter's concerts drew thousands of fans and its LPs were very popular, especially in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

<i>The Lousy World</i> Polish TV series or program

The Lousy World is a Polish television sitcom that premiered on 16 March 1999 on Polsat. The show follows the life of a dysfunctional Polish family from Wrocław. Most episodes are centered on Ferdynand Kiepski, the family's patriarch, who schemes to improve his financial or life situation, but in most cases ultimately fails. The series is a parody of stereotypical lives of Polish families in a style similar to the US series Married... with Children.

"Mój jest ten kawałek podłogi", also known as "Kawałek podłogi", is a Polish-language alternative rock song by the band Mr. Zoob, written by Waldemar Miszczor. It was released in 1986 as a single and later on the 1987 Czego się gapisz? album. It is recognized as one of the most famous Polish-language rock songs and one of the most famous songs of the band. The song is about jailed man, who demands to have his own "piece of the floor", which is an allegory to people fighting for their freedom under the communist regime of the Polish People's Republic in the 1980s.

Agata Dziarmagowska, known by her stage name Dziarma is a Polish vocalist, creating music that combines pop, hip-hop, witch house, and vaporwave.
