Sir Andrew David Marsh, QPM (born 1966) is a senior British police officer. He has been the chief executive officer of the College of Policing since September 2021. [2]
Marsh was born in 1966 in Liverpool,England. [3]
His policing career commenced as a recruit at Avon and Somerset in 1987. [4] He later became assistant chief constable (ACC) for Wiltshire Police,then ACC for Avon and Somerset,then chief constable of Hampshire Constabulary. [4] From February 2016 to July 2021,he was chief constable of Avon and Somerset Police. [5]
He was knighted in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours "for services to policing". [6]

Chief Constable is the rank used by the chief police officer of every territorial police force in the United Kingdom except for the City of London Police and the Metropolitan Police,as well as the chief officers of the three 'special' national police forces,the British Transport Police,Ministry of Defence Police,and Civil Nuclear Constabulary. The title is also held by the chief officers of the principal Crown Dependency police forces and the Sovereign Base Areas Police in Cyprus. The title was also held,ex officio,by the president of the Association of Chief Police Officers under the Police Reform Act 2002. It was also the title of the chief officer of the Royal Parks Constabulary until this agency was disbanded in 2004.
Avon and Somerset Police is the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement in the five unitary authority areas of Bristol,Bath and North East Somerset,North Somerset,Somerset,and South Gloucestershire,all in South West England.

The College of Policing is a professional body for the police in England and Wales. It was established in 2012 to take over a number of training and development roles that were the responsibility of the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA). The National Police Library was also transferred from the NPIA at that time. The college is an arm's length body of the Home Office. The college is based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore,Warwickshire.
