The Angolan Basketball League MVP Award, for sponsorships reasons named the Unitel Basket MVP, is an annual basketball award given out to the most valuable player of a given Angolan Basketball League season.
The award was first handed out in 1998. Olímpio Cipriano won a record four MVP awards in his career. American-born Cedric Isom is the only foreign player in the league's history to have won the award.

Olímpio Cipriano is an Angolan basketball player who currently plays for Petro de Luanda and the Angola national team. A 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) guard, he has been one of the most decorated basketball players in Angolan history, having won 12 Angolan Leagues and 11 Angolan Cups in his career.
Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto is an Angolan men's basketball team based in Luanda. The team is part of the multi-sports club with the same name. The tournament was cut short due to the Angolan national team's engagement at the Olympics qualification tournament and also due to a strike of referees, in that at the end of the regular season, the best six teams played a double round robin tournament for the title in serie A as did the last six teams for the consolation, serie B.

The Taça de Angola is an annual basketball competition in which all Angolan basketball clubs are eligible to contest. The tournament, played in a knock-out system, is Angola's second most important basketball competition following the national league.
The Supertaça de Angola, better known as the Supertaça Vladimiro Romeiro, is a single-match competition in Angolan basketball, played between the Angolan league champion and the Angola Cup winner of the previous season. In case the same team happens to win both the league and the cup, the match will be played between the league winner and the cup runner-up.
The 2007–08 Season of BAI Basket ran from November 21, 2008 through May 16, 2009, with 12 teams playing in three different stages: in stage one teams played a double round robin system. In stage two, the six best teams played a single round robin tournament in serie A and the last six did the same for the consolation group, serie B. Finally, in stage three the best four teams from serie A played in a round robin at four rounds for the title. The winners of the regular season and of the serie A are awarded a bonus point for the serie A and the final four, respectively.

In stage 4 (semifinals), the first-seeded team played a best-of-five series with the fourth-seeded team whereas the 2nd-seeded team played the third-seeded team with the winners playing a best-of-seven series of matches for the title and the losers playing a best-of-three series for third place. The 5th-seeded team from group A joined group B to play the group's 3rd-seeded team also in a best-of-five series whereas 1st-seeded plays 2nd seeded. Winners of those group B matches played a best-of-seven series for seventh place, the losers played a best-of-three for ninth place whereas the last two teams in group B will be relegated to the 2nd division championship.
The Angola basketball cup is the second most important nationwide annual basketball competition in Angola. The final stage of the 2015 edition for men (quarterfinals) ran from March 10 to April 10, 2015 and was contested by eight teams in a two-leg knock out competition system, followed by a two-leg semifinal. The final was played in a single match. Recreativo do Libolo was the winner by beating Primeiro de Agosto 79-70 in the final.

The 2022–23 Angolan Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons known as the 2022–23 Unitel Basket, was the 45th season of the Angolan Basketball League, the highest premier basketball league in Angola. The season consisted of thirteen teams and began on 21 October 2022 and ended on 19 April 2023 with the conclusion of the finals.
