Anil and Babu are a director duo. [1] Anil and Babu both individually directed two films before they directed several films together from 1992 to 2004. [2] They worked together for most of their career. While Anil directed nine films after 2004 Babu only directed one. Babu died in 2019. [3]

Mahesh Babu is an Indian actor, producer, media personality, and philanthropist who works in Telugu cinema. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema. He first appeared in the 1979 film Needa when he was four years old. He continued to perform as a child actor in several films, most of which featured his father Krishna. Following his role as the titular protagonist in Balachandrudu (1990) while still a child, his career went on hiatus so he could concentrate on his education until taking on his first lead role as an adult in the 1999 film Rajakumarudu, for which he won the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut. Afterwards, his career stagnated until successes like Murari (2001), Okkadu (2003) and Athadu (2005) brought him fame. Jack N' Jill is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language science fiction comedy film directed by Santosh Sivan. It stars Manju Warrier, Kalidas Jayaram, Soubin Shahir, Shaylee Krishen, and Esther Anil in the lead role. The film marks cinematographer Santosh Sivan's directorial comeback in Malayalam cinema after nearly seven years. It was released in theatres on 20 May 2022. The film is partially reshot in Tamil under the title Centimeter with Yogi Babu replacing Soubin Shahir and was also released on the same day. It was a box-office disaster. This movie was last movie of veteran actor Nedumudi Venu released after his death on October 2021

Pattabhishekam (transl. Coronation) is a 1999 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Anil–Babu and starring Jayaram,Mohini,Harisree Ashokan and Jagathi Sreekumar. An elephant from Mangalamkunnu played the role of Lakshmikutti in the film. The film was a superhit at the box office success and became popular. After this film, Jayaram did other elephant-based films such as Aanachandam (2006) and Thiruvambadi Thamban (2012).

Ingane Oru Nilapakshi is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language romantic drama film directed by Anil–Babu and starring Kunchako Boban, Sneha, Sangeetha and Sujitha. The film was a box office failure. This film is recognized for being Sneha's debut film.
