Anime Conji was an annual three-day anime convention held during May/June at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California.

Programming

The convention typically offered anime screenings, AMV contest, an art show, artist alley, a dance, dealers, fashion show, gaming, karaoke, Maid Café, masquerade, and panels. [1]

History

The convention became part of SPJA (Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation), the organizers of Anime Expo in March 2012. [5] [6] [7] During the 2015 convention, NIS America held a Danganronpa based murder mystery. [2] [8] Anime Conji 2016 was cancelled due to event quality concerns. [9] [10] The convention returned in 2018 under its original organizers, the San Diego Speculative Fiction Society (SanSFiS). [3] [4] Anime Conji did not occur in 2020 due to budget and venue issues. [11]

Fan Expo Canada is an annual speculative fiction fan convention held in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded as the Canadian National Comic Book Expo in 1995 by Hobby Star Marketing Inc. It includes distinctly branded sections, including GX and SFX, and formerly CNAnime. It is a four-day event typically held the weekend before Labour Day during the summer at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

Animation On Display was an animation convention in Santa Clara, California at the Santa Clara Convention Center containing animation screenings, cosplay, panels, guests, vendors, fandom, comics, music and more in reference to East Asian and American culture.

Zenkaikon is a multi-genre convention held during March at the Lancaster County Convention Center and Holiday Inn Lancaster in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The convention was formerly based around King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Zenkaikon's name is a portmanteau of Zentrancon and Kosaikon, created when they merged in 2006. The convention has an all-volunteer staff.

The convention's full name stands for Japanese Animation Film and Art Expo. JAFAX was previously a two-day event held at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan and was organized by the university's anime club and tabletop gaming club (AltReal).
