Muhammad Anis Ahmed (born 10 December 1973, in Gojra) is a field hockey player and former member of the Pakistan National Hockey Team. He played for Pakistan's national team in the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 1998 Asian Games, where the team won bronze medals. [1] He played 87 matches for Pakistan and scored 24 goals in his career.

He played as Center Half for the Pakistan hockey team. Akhtar is considered one of the creative geniuses in centre-half recovery and ball distribution.

Anwar Ahmed "Anu" Khan was a Pakistani field hockey player who won one gold medal and two silver medals at the 1956–1964 Olympics, as well as gold medals at the Asian Games in 1958 and 1962. He is known as the Rock of Gibraltar.

Chaudhry Ghulam Rasul was an educationist of Pakistan as well as a field hockey Olympic player. He was originally from Faisalabad District but later settled in Lahore. Rasool was an integral part of the Pakistani field hockey team from 1956 through 1963.

Zahid Shareef is a former Pakistani international hockey player who represented Pakistan from 1987 to 1991. During his playing career, he scored 41 goals playing in 73 matches. He is remembered for his exceptional dribbling skill. He was banned from the game in a controversial manner for six months. He retired from hockey in 1991. In February 2015, Shareef, who was working as a shift station manager at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, was arrested for alleged drugs smuggling.

Kashif Jawad is a former field hockey player who represented Pakistan in two Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004. A stalwart forward for Pakistan during late 90s and early 2000s Jawad was the team's prime center forward during his career. His career ended abruptly after he was dropped from the team in mid of 2005 due poor physical levels and drop in performance after the death of his father the same year which impacted his game, he was not selected for the team afterwards. He continued playing for Port Qasim in Pakistan National Hockey Championship and played professional leagues in India and Malaysia.

There have been some field hockey players who competed for more than one nation. These players belonged to British India, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, Argentina, Germany and Spain. It may be mentioned here that British India was divided into two independent countries India and Pakistan in 1947. Later in 1971, Bangladesh was created after attaining independence from Pakistan.
