Divisions are the first-level administrative divisions in Bangladesh. As of 2023,there are eight divisions of Bangladesh,each named after the major city within its jurisdiction that also serves as the administrative seat of that division. Each division is divided into several districts which are further subdivided into upazilas,then union councils.
Montazur Rahman Akbar is a Bangladeshi film director,screenwriter,producer,social activist and entrepreneur. He is known for his work in the Bengali-language film industry,which is centered in Dhaka,Bangladesh. Akbar also fought in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

There are 8 divisions and 64 districts in Bangladesh,each district further subdivided into upazila. The area within each subdistrict,except for those in metropolitan areas,is divided into several unions,with each union consisting of multiple villages. Direct elections are held for each union,electing a chairperson and a number of members. In 1997,a parliamentary act was passed to reserve three seats in every union for female candidates. Following elections in the 2014–16 period,25.2% of councillors were women,up from 23.4% in the 2011–13 period.
Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury is a Bengali poet and a member of the Bangladesh Civil Service. He was the Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of Mujib Borsho,the Birth Centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,the founding father of Bangladesh. He is a former Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Mohammad Javed Patwary was a Bangladeshi police officer and a former Inspector General of Police of Bangladesh Police. Earlier,he served as Additional Inspector General of Police Special Branch (SB). After his retirement in 2020,he was appointed as the ambassador to Saudi Arabia by the Government of Bangladesh.
Zahangir Alam is a former mayor of Gazipur City Corporation,an Awami League politician and businessman. Aligned with the Bangladesh Awami League,he was elected as the second mayor of the Gazipur City Corporation in July 2018. He is the managing director of Honourable Textile Composite Ltd and Z Alam Apparels. He was the general secretary of Gazipur metropolitan Awami League until he was expelled by Awami League central working committee on 19 November 2021. Jahangir was pardoned and got back his Awami League Membership on 1 January 2023. The LGRD Ministry suspended Alam on 25 November 2021 from the mayor post of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) on the allegations of illegal land grabbing,not compensating people after taking over land for development and working against the public interest.
Energy and Mineral Resources Division is a Bangladesh government division under the Ministry of Power,Energy and Mineral Resources responsible for managing hydrocarbon mining and processing in Bangladesh. Dr Khairuzzaman Mozumder is the Secretary in charge of the division.
AB Siddique was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the organizer of the War of Liberation in the Liberation War of Bangladesh,member of the People's Council of 3 and parliament of the Awami League Comilla-21 seat in Bangladesh.

Rashidpur Gas Field is a natural gas field located in Habiganj,Bangladesh. In 1960,Pakistan Shell Oil Company discovered it. In 1975,this gas field came under the control of the Government of Bangladesh. It is one of the sixth gasfields owned and operated by a government company,Sylhet Gas Fields Company Limited.

He was the secretary of the Local Government Division. He is a former chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority.
Golam Md Hasibul Alam is a Bangladeshi Civil Servant and senior Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.
Elias Uddin Biswas is a Bangladeshi educationalist. He is a professor at Mathematics Department at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) and current vice-chancellor at North East University Bangladesh (NEUB). Before joining North East University Bangladesh he served as treasurer and acting vice-chancellor of SUST.
