Monson in the First Presidency from 2008 until Monson's death on January 2,2018. Eyring was the second counselor to Gordon B. Hinckley in the First Presidency from October 6,2007,until Hinckley's death on January 27,2008.
The University of California Student Association (UCSA) is an active 501(c)(3) unincorporated association,purposed as a student association of all University of California (UC) students. Its charter states that it "shall exist to:serve the interests of the current and future students of the University of California and promotes [sic] cooperation between various student governments of the University and student organizations concerned with higher education." After asking the protesters to leave several times,university police pepper sprayed a group of student demonstrators as they were seated on a paved path in the campus quad. The video of UC Davis police officer Lt. John Pike pepper-spraying demonstrators spread around the world as a viral video and the photograph became an Internet meme. Officer Alex Lee also pepper sprayed demonstrators at Pike's direction.

The 1911 modernism controversy at Brigham Young University was an episode involving four professors at Brigham Young University (BYU),who between 1908 and 1911 widely taught evolution and higher criticism of the Bible,arguing that modern scientific thought was compatible with Christian and Mormon theology.
