Ana Singh is an Indian fashion designer, mainly working for the Indian movie industry Bollywood. [1] She has designed costumes for more than 900 films [2] and has been working since 1989. In 2002 she was the first fashion designer to introduce actress Katrina Kaif in her show as a model. In 2010, she designed the clothes for the actors who participated in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in India. [3]
Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India is a 2001 epic sports drama film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film was produced by Aamir Khan, who stars alongside debutant Gracy Singh and British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne. Set in 1893, during the late Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj, the film follows the inhabitants of a village in Central India, who, burdened by high taxes and several years of drought, are challenged by an arrogant British Indian Army officer to a game of cricket as a wager to avoid paying the taxes they owe. It tells the story of Sahibjaan, a Lucknow-based courtesan or dancer, popularly known as tawaif. While asleep on a train, Sahibjaan receives a note from a stranger praising her beauty. Later, evacuating from a broken boat, she takes shelter in a tent and finds out its owner, a forest ranger named Salim, wrote the letter. Sahibjaan and Salim plan to get married, causing conflicts with Sahibjaan's professional background.
