Nikos Karvelas is a Greek songwriter, producer and singer. He has sold millions of records as a producer and is most recognizable for his three-decade-long collaboration with Anna Vissi, while some of his other well-known collaborations include Tolis Voskopoulos and Sakis Rouvas. Karvelas has released multiple personal studio albums that have had mild to big success. In 2012, Alpha TV ranked Karvelas as the 13th top-certified composer in Greece in the phonographic era.

Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, which was held in Athens, Greece following the nation's win at the previous year's contest. The Greek national broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) internally selected Anna Vissi to represent the country. Her song "Everything" was determined on 14 March 2006 during a four-song national final titled Feel the Party. "Everything" was composed by Nikos Karvelas and written by Vissi.

The album was released as a DualDisc on October 10, 2005, the first of its kind in Greece, and re-released on May 2, 2006 with the title Nylon: Euro-Edition as a tie-in to Vissi's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Ode to the Gods is the name of an English soundtrack album to Stavros Sideras' 1993 one-act opera of the same name starring Greek Cypriot singer Anna Vissi. It is Anna Vissi's first English soundtrack album and was released in Cyprus and Greece in 1993 by Cypriot record company All Records. Vissi's co-stars included Labis Livieratos and Bessie Malfa, who perform on three tracks each. The opera was only staged once in October 1993 in Limassol under the auspices of the Government of Cyprus and played before Queen Elizabeth II and Her Excellencies. The Athinon Arena, sometimes referred to as Athens Arena, is a grand music venue in Athens, Greece. It was built in 2004 as a large-scale convention centre and concert hall, designed to host up to 3,000 people seated. It was owned by the Papatheoharis Group.
