Raija Anne Lammila (born 6 December 1957) [1] is a Finnish diplomat.

Career

Lammila has been the Finnish Ombudsman for Equal Opportunity in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs since the autumn of 2015. Prior to that she was the Finnish Ambassador to Mexico from 2011 to 2015 and has represented Finland in nine other countries: Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama and Belize.

Previously, she has worked at the Finnish Embassies in Brazil, Madrid, Paris (Unesco) and Washington. In 2015, the House of Representative of the Mexican Congress inaugurated her as an honorary doctorate as her work for children and young people to have right for education. [2] [3]

Personal life

Since the 1980s Anne Lammila has been married to journalist Markku Saksa. [4]

Johanna Vuoksenmaa is a Finnish television and film director and screenwriter who has also worked as a photographer, installation artist and a teacher. Her films have been shown at numerous film festivals around the world and she has won many Finnish film and television awards for directing and screenwriting. As a director and screenwriter, Vuoksenmaa prefers the comedy genre because to her comedy means relief, forgiveness and defense. She does not use casting agencies but prefers to cast actors to her films herself, since she thinks that it creates a level of trust between the actor and the director.

<i>Mein Schiff 3</i>

Mein Schiff 3 is a cruise ship owned by TUI Cruises. She was delivered from STX Finland Turku Shipyard on 22 May 2014 and was followed by identical sister ships, Mein Schiff 4 in 2015, Mein Schiff 5 in 2016, Mein Schiff 6 in 2017. In addition, Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 were confirmed on 1 July 2015, with deliveries set for 2018 and 2019.

<i>Polaris</i> (icebreaker) Finnish icebreaker

Polaris is a Finnish icebreaker. Built in 2016 by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, she is the most powerful icebreaker ever to fly the Finnish flag and the first icebreaker in the world to feature environmentally friendly dual-fuel engines capable of using both low-sulfur marine diesel oil (LSMDO) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Polaris was initially ordered by the Finnish Transport Agency, but the ownership was transferred to the state-owned icebreaker operator Arctia after delivery.

Nanna Vainio Finnish badminton player

Nanna Vainio is a right handed Finnish badminton player who lives in Espoo in Finland. Since 2009 she has been the Finnish singles champion several times.

Johanna Matintalo

Johanna Katariina Matintalo is a Finnish cross-country skier and former track and field athlete. She set Finnish age group records as a middle-distance runner and was national champion in the women's 800 metres in 2013, but injuries and stagnating results led her to concentrate on skiing. As a skier, she won silver in the women's skiathlon at the 2017 World U23 Championships and has represented Finland in the 2017, 2019 and 2021 World Championships as well as the 2018 Winter Olympics in cross-country skiing, winning her first and to date only medal in the 4 × 5 kilometre relay in the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf.

Päivi Luostarinen is a Finnish diplomat. She has been employed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs since 1981 and served as Finnish Ambassador at the Finnish Embassy in London from September 2015 until June 2019.

Tarja Laitiainen is a Finnish diplomat. She started working for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1980. Laitianien was appointed as the Finnish Ambassador to Portugal in Lisbon on October 1, 2016.

Arja Makkonen Finnish diplomat

Arja Makkonen is a Finnish diplomat. She is an ambassador from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in the Southern Caucasus region of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. She has previously served as Ambassador to Ukraine in Kyiv since 2011 and has worked since 2015, including in the Moscow and Warsaw Delegations. Prior to that, she has served as Adviser to the Minister of European Affairs and Foreign Trade. Makkonen joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1989.
