Also under her captaincy the team qualified for the Olympics after 36 years after finishing fifth in the 2014–15 Women's FIH Hockey World League Semifinals.

Rajbir Kaur Rai is an Indian field hockey player and former Indian women's team captain. She lives in Jallandhar. In her days, she was popular as the 'Golden Girl' of Indian hockey. She received Arjuna Award in 1984.
Ajinder Kaur is an Indian field hockey player and a former member of Indian women's hockey team. She hails from Punjab. She played for India and for Punjab and Sisters Hokey Eleven Club in the local tournaments. She plays as a defender. She got the Arjuna Award in 1974.
Otilia Mascarenhas is an Indian field hockey player and a former member and captain of the Indian women’s hockey team during the 60s. She hails from Goa. She received Arjuna Award in 1973. She is also an Orthopedic Surgeon and specialist in Sports Medicine. She now lives in Cologne, Germany.
