Another Night in the Sun: Live in Helsinki is the first live album by Finnish glam rock singer Michael Monroe, released on 5 October 2010, through Spinefarm Records. It is Monroe's first album with his new live backing band formed in early 2010 (which includes former Hanoi Rocks bassist Sami Yaffa), and first solo release since Hanoi Rocks' final break-up/retirement in 2009.
The live show was recorded on 7 June 2010 at the Tavastia Club in Helsinki, and features songs from Monroe's solo career, as well as songs from his tenure with Hanoi Rocks and Demolition 23, and a few covers.
The album was mixed by famed American producer and sound engineer Niko Bolas who has previously worked with such artists as Neil Young and Kiss, and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Richard Dodd, who has previously worked with Tom Petty and the Dixie Chicks.
Antti Hulkko, better known as Andy McCoy, is a Finnish musician. He is best known for his role as the lead guitarist and main songwriter of the rock band Hanoi Rocks, but has also played with Iggy Pop and a variety of other groups. McCoy's works cover a wide range of music genres, including rock 'n' roll, punk rock, flamenco, glam punk, glam rock, blues rock and hard rock. He is also an avid painter.
Hanoi Rocks was a Finnish rock band formed in 1979. They were the first Finnish band to chart in the UK and they were also popular in Japan. The band broke up in June 1985 after drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley died in a drunk driving accident with Vince Neil behind the wheel during their first US tour in December 1984. After their initial break-up, Michael Monroe was the first Finnish artist to chart on the American Billboard 200 in 1989. Jetboy got the attention of music fans and record executives alike in Hollywood during the mid-1980s.
