Anselm Ransford Adzetey Sowah is a Ghanaian Banker, Lawyer and Diplomat. He is a former Managing Director of GCB Bank. [1] He is currently Ghana's High Commissioner to Canada. [2]
Sowah attended Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Ghana. [3] He is a barrister at law and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He is a member of the British Bankers Association, Business Council for Africa and Association of Foreign Bank. [3]
Sowah has been a banker for over three decades, during which he worked at Ghana Commercial bank Branch, Ghana International Bank and the Bank of Montreal Capital Markets, all in London, United Kingdom. [1] At these Institutions and in the UK capital markets, he held senior management positions in Compliance, International Trade Finance, Retail Banking and Business Development. In 2017, he was appointed Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC. [1] During his tenure, he led the Bank's digitisation drive, introducing the G-money platform which allowed clients to store and withdraw funds with their mobile devices. At its shareholder meeting in August 2020, it was announced that Sowah will leave the Bank. However, the Board agreed he stayed in acting position until September 30 when his replacement would have succeeded him. [4]
In 2021, Anselm Sowah was appointed as Ghana's High Commissioner to Canada by Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo. [5] He succeeded Ayikoi Otoo who served in that role from 2017 until 2021. [6] As High Commissioner, he was on hand, in February 2022, to receive the symbolic key indicating Ghana's entry into the International Civil Aviation Organisation(ICAO). By this, Ghana's national identity card, known as the Ghana Card, was given approval as global E-passport, meaning travelers could use the card as a valid travelling document to board flights to Ghana at 44,000 airports around the world. In August 2017, the Bank of Ghana, the nation's central bank, announced that it had approved a Purchase and Assumption transaction with GCB Bank Limited for the transfer of all deposits and selected assets of UT Bank and Capital Bank (Ghana) to GCB Bank Ltd.

Nii Ayikoi Otoo is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He belongs to the New Patriotic Party. He served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Ghana in the John Agyekum Kufour administration. He was Ghana's High Commissioner to Canada.He is the Board Chairman of Ghana Life Insurance Company(GLICO).
Samuel Arthur Odoi-Sykes is a Ghanaian politician, diplomat and lawyer. He served as Ghana's High Commissioner to Canada from 2001 to 2006 and Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1970 to 1972. He was National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party from 1998 to 2001 during which the party won its first presidential victory. In the Third Republic, he was Member of Parliament for Ashiedu Keteke from 1979 to 1981 and Minority Leader of Parliament from 1980 to 1981.

Kwesi Amoako-Atta was a Ghanaian banker and politician. During the First Republic, he served as the Minister for Finance from 1964 to 1966. He also served as a member of parliament for the Akim Abuakwa West constituency from 1964 to 1965 and the Kade constituency from 1965 to 1966. Prior to politics, Amoako-Atta was a banker. He worked with the Bank of British West Africa and the Bank of the Gold Coast prior to his appointment as deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. He was the deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 1960 until 1964 when he resigned to enter politics.

He was Ghana High Commissioner to Canada from 1984 to 1986, Ghana High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1986 to 1990, and Ghana Ambassador to the United States of America from 1990 to 1994.

He served as the Minister for Health from 1964 to 1965 and the Regional Commissioner for the Volta Region from 1965. He was also the member of parliament for the Buem-Krachi constituency from 1951 to 1954, the member of parliament for the Akan-Krachi constituency from 1954 to 1965 and the member of parliament for the Krachi constituency from 1965 to 1966.
Her Royal Highness Oheneba Lesley Akyaa Opoku Ware is a Ghanaian physician and diplomat. She is the ambassador of Ghana to the Russian Federation. Opoku Ware is also trained as a family physician. In 2017, she was appointed by Ghana's president as the Ambassador to the Russian Federation. She is also the ambassador to several other countries including Armenia.
